I have ORB pendants over my island, ORB cabinet hardware & a SS finish on my faucet. I do not have a pendant over my sink, but my kitchen is small, so my pendants are not that far away from the sink. I struggled with whether everything had to match as well, & in the end wound up going with what I liked.

My kitchen designer calls the choice to mix materials as "eclectic", but she does make sure that somewhere...somewhere in the kitchen there is another touch of the same material in the granite, in the appliances, in the cabinets.....When I finally chose my granite, she gave me the go ahead to use an antiqued bronzed chandelier...because now I've warmed up the kitchen with my granite choice of Sienna Bordeaux. Initally, when I was looking at a cool granite, Delicatus, she said it wouldn't go. Go with what you like....if it's a shocking "no go", you will know,

Man, I hope not. I have flat black knobs, ORB lighting, and an unlacquered brass Herbeau tap.

I think as long as things have a point where they relate to something else, as mentioned above, it makes a room look more evolved.

I agree with grlwprls 1000%. To me, too much matchy match can be a bit boring. Fill your space with what you love! And surely, it will love you back.

I have brushed nickel hardware, stainless faucet and ORB pendants. And also, I have two sets of pendants that are completely different from each other. It may look crazy, but I love it!

there really is a big difference

The only things that match (sort of) are my faucet and instant hot. But they sit almost side by side.
The rest - as in knobs and pulls and chandelier look marvelous together but definitely do not match.

Muspic - where are the knob and pull you show above from? I love them!!!

Patreesh - I am struggling with the exact same thing. I have picked out the "canvas" finish from KM for my cabs, "toasted almond" quartz from zodiac, and they look great with ORB finished hardware....but I don't want an ORB faucet, and my husband wants chrome, which I'm really afraid of putting in b/c it will be too much different...

I figure I'm going to wait until my cabinets are in to make the final decision on the faucet, and then after that, see what looks good after the quartz is installed. I do much better seeing it together than trying to piecemeal it off the internet or from the local shops!
