WELL.................it is not MY grandbaby. Maddy's parents are divorced. That does not mean if ever Maddy wants to have her brother once in a while spend a day here, I would say no. Starting to grin again because we have to tell Maddy to tone it down when she poses roflmao But like I said. She LOVES IT. Kristy I went to a friend of Andrea's and their daughter is only 14 and my gosh that girl looks like she is in her 20's!!!!Morgan looking a lot older then she is...you ARE going to have your hands full. Hilde, What was aritten in my book about availability commercially was correct at the time of publication but several of those not available then ( only 7/100 were not commercially sold but were available to SSE members) are available now. The best place to look is Sandhill Preservation b/c Glenn asked for seeds of all in my book that he didn't currently have and almost has all of them now available. And he lists Heidi. And he lists many others that I send to him as well as Linda at TGS for trial and hopefully to be offered. Please note that you cannot order from Sandhill at all times of the year. But you'll find no better seed prices anywhere and his reputation for seed purity is up near the top and the number of seeds/pack is way over the minimum and he lists over 400 varieties. It's a bit disappointing to see all the discrepancies. It appears on both sides. Not taking sides mind you, but reading the article there is still something that doesn't fit. From experience owning dogs all my life & DH and I wrestling around with our two large (80+ lbs) brutes in play, they don't jump all the way up and get in our faces. They go for legs, shoes, sometimes the cuff of a sleeve...what's close to their level. DH and I have both been 'head butted' in play, but only when we are kneeling or bending over, putting our face much nearer their head & eye level. The place we take our dogs for classes or boarding trains German Shepherds for various law enforcement agencies. I've watched them training in the field, human 'bad guy' dressed in protective clothing head to toe. When the dog goes on the offensive, the 'bad guy' is often standing still (imitating someone frozen in fear), or they're flailing their arms or attempting to kick as defensive moves. I've not seen those dogs charge & jump higher than torso/chest, as a means to swiftly knock the bad guy off balance & attempt to get them down to ground level. A submissive vulnerable position. Or the dog is grabbing, biting & pulling at arms and legs. I've seen them go for head/neck area, but the guy is either kneeling, on his back or curled in a fetal position. The victim's story is that after the he inquired if the dogs were friendly he simply continued to pass but was attacked. 'Passing by' indicates the victim was either walking or at very least standing erect. Not stooped or bent over nearer the dog's eye level. So why did the victim's face 5' to 6' above the ground suffer the initial 'attack'? Why would a dog lunge and jump so high in order to straight away go for the victim's head? Why not a leg or arm? Either of which are much closer in proximity to the dog and pose much more of an immediate threat. Why not bite or injure those ares to get them out of commission & reduce the threat? Because if she didn't reduce that threat first, her high jump left her vulnerable belly/torso area exposed to full strength retaliatory swings/hits/kicks. There are a lot of things on both sides to this story that don't make sense to me. Guess I tend to think the guy did bend over to some degree, and it was more than a head butt he got in return.
