The first two pictures are from the completed kitchen, the rest are in earlier stages. The big picture showing the back of the island which has two two foot wide by 1 foot deep cabinets under the overhang and electrical outlets on each corner under the overhang. The island is about 4 by 8 feet: Rangetop with completed hood installation: Island front - from left to right oils and condiment pullout, pot and pan drawers under rangetop, microwave with spice drawer above and pot holder storage below, prep sink with electrical outlet and prep appliances below. side with pull out for cutting boards and some bowls. The other side has a similar cabinet for baking sheets, cooling racks and baking pans because the baking center is across the aisle from it:

Hi boxerpups, I'm glad you like them. I do think they would look nice in your space. I love that they are pretty without being too overwhelming. They are nice and small... which I had a hard time finding something I liked (with the right price because we needed 5). Since we were putting them up in multiple, I didn't want something too big. They are a dark bronze, which I think blends nicely with our dark grayish/black counters. I'm sure you could spray paint them with a matte black if you wanted them to be a true black. Luckily at $19, you could test one. Here is photo of the pendants as they came originally... the original shades were a bit bigger in diameter. The clear glass shades I ended up swapping were also from Lowes for $3. If I remember correctly, they may have been in the section with the glass bathroom shades (on the same aisle as the rest of the lights at our Lowes).

I really like your kitchen and lights FlyingHigh! My pendants are hubbardton forge - forget the model name but they shouldn't be hard to find. The glass type is sand and I have the optional slate plates on the top where it attaches to the ceiling for a tie in to the backsplash. (wow, its been a year now since I was buying this stuff and I've already forgotten the terms). You could probably have your tile guy make those plates for far less money and get a perfect matche with your backsplash so long as he has the right equipment to drill holes in the tile.

I would do a simple light over the island and more of a chandelier over your table?
