HI! I am always looking for new goodies! I am excited about a new swap idea! I am not sure if I would have time to run one although I would love to! I am planning a wedding and back to school as well as a grad class. BUT.....let's brainstorm ideas and maybe there is someone willing to get another one going! How about a sticker swap....

Dear Hedi,
When we do our monthly swap we usually include some stickers for whatever topic we are presently swapping for. If however you would like to get a sticker swap going that would be great too. Penny

I'm always ready for a swap. I'll have to be sure to tell my sister this time. She's missed out on them every time and I think she's getting jealous of all my goodies I'm getting. Everyone is so creative in their swaps!

Shoot me an email and I'll try and help you as best I can. I'm probably better with information about what NOT to do since I seem more proficient at screwing up the MTPS than I am at making it better. Luckily we have an excellent group so it makes my job a lot easier but I kinda run a loose ship; maybe a little too relaxed but we have fun regardless. YouÂve got to find a balance between rigid organization and structure versus and a riotous jail-break; somewhere amid Don Giovanni and Woodstock is the key! My biggest downfall is most likely delegation, I stink at that. Picking a date is crucial also. We always have the spring MTPS the Saturday before the Memorial/Decoration Day weekend and the fall MTPS is usually The Third Saturday in October (which thankfully is going to work out well for the next two seasons). You also need to find out the ETPS swap dates so that none of us tag the same Saturdays. Just guessing but IÂd plan on having 50-100 depending on your publicity (We REALLY should discuss that!!!). MTPS spring attendance is normally 100-150 (occasionally 400+) and the fall swap is usually 50-75. Hit me at jtoothmanindadj@comcast.net Jeff

What a neat idea for a thread. I live in Nyssa,OR which is in high desert. My soil is very alkaline, but lucky at this house the volcanic basalt is very deep (my last house, I only had 12" of soil). The good parts are distinct seasons, easy access to irrigation water and less pests and disease since we have little to no humidity all summer. The bad part is at zone 6 a lot of the lush tropical plants are not hardy. Many plants prefer acid soil so there are no hydrangea's for me. The seasons don't always change smoothly, so late springs and early winters can really disrupt the growing season. Finally, everything must be irrigated to survive. Oh and my last "hate" puncture vine (sometimes called goat heads) love it here. I step on at least one a day I swear, since my little boys drag them in on their boots. My favorite flowers I grow are roses, hollyhocks and iris. I jokingly say anything that looks like a daisy grows well here...but I have a lot of echinacea, rudbeckia, galliardia, sunflowers and coreopsis. looking forward to reading more of these posts.

WOW! I paid WAYYYYYYY more than that for my muslin at the LQS. Planning on someday starting a Cathedral Windows, but I know I bought a ton extra, I always do. Should our 'pairs' be co-ordinating, or completely different, or either/or? If we are sending 12 strips, I'm assuming 6 would co-ordinate with each set? Or am I getting too detailed? I am willing to do a sticker swap. I just did my first one this week and I am praying it got there in time. There was a due date to get it in and I was running it close. Can't wait to see what I get.

SO, yes I would love to do another.

Has anyone done a paper swap before? If so, how did you do it? Did you switch brand new paper or paper you already had. I am looking for for some red and white poka dot paper if anyone has some please email. thank you I am stuck until I get some and I can't find it in the stores around here!

Janet- I have participated in a few paper swaps and...I got tons of new stuff...alot I have never seen before. I have been pleased with all the swaps I have ever particapeted in.
If I did get papers I did not need or would ever use I stuck them in folder and stuck them back for the next paper swap.
Let me know if you host one I would definately join in on all the fun!! :)
