Trouble with auction scrapbook purchase

I ordered some punchies and die cuts from two different people on *a large auction site* (can we use the name on this forum?) both with positive ratings over 100. Both these auctions ended 6-22-00. I signed up for paypal using one as a referral. I received ths punchies I ordered from her, but not the "free" bonus stuff she promised me. When I e-mailed her she wrote that she had sent them before the punchies I got and should be arriving anytime. Still nothing. The second person has not responded to any of my emails. I paid both parties the day I received their addresses, by PAYPAL, and I had receipts e-mailed to me. Has anyone else ever had problems with auctions? I don't know exactly what to do next. I guess just keep checking that mailbox :-) And they weren't large purchases, just a couple of dollars, but I guess its just the principal of the thing. And I don't think mailing would take that long. I live in NC, one of the ladies is in AL. Well thanks for letting me vent!

If it is that "e" company, I believe that they have a type of customer service contact person. They send e-mails to them, but I don't think they can really "do" anything. You can always leave a bad report...I know that doesn't really solve your problem, but others may be helped.

I sell on that site and buy there too (sometimes TOO much I must admit)! I have had problems from time to time as well but not many! What were the responses from the sellers when you emailed them about the concerns?

Just to divide the companies as they were for many years before the acquisition of J&P, the customer service at Parks and Wayside was always excellent and 90% of their customers said as much. People complained mostly about the plants when they did, but I still have roses growing that I bought from Wayside long before the J&P buy up (Caruso anyone?)... Last year I had a devil of a time getting a catalog from J&P even though I'd ordered a rose. I finally had to call a supervisor at Parks to have them mail me a catalog. Now it may be a collectors item. The guy I spoke to was so hopeful that Parks Seed would survive and that they would all keep their jobs. I'm sure the employees are more concerned about that then whether we will get plants/seeds from them any longer. They always did well by me so now all I can say is fingers crossed and God bless them...Maryl

Mike It is great that you can trade and get all of the hostas you want. I trade hostas with friends also. The trouble is that you have to be careful who you trade with to make sure you get problem free plants. Also if you don't have many plants or any newer ones people are not going to trade a new plant they paid a lot of money for for a common plant that has been around for a long time. I am pretty sure there will not be anyone trading for the plants from the auction. Most are very rare and only one or two available. Not that they are any better plants then ones you can trade for they are just harder to come by (rare). In fact there are some people that say the common ones are better and will grow better but when you pay big $$ for them they are sure to die - or at least be eaten by the deer

I once had a few dozez tall bearded iris, they are just the best cut flowers I can think of, just huge , wonderful, blooms. (though I never really like iris fragrance, its reminds me of cat pee) but I just plant el cheapos now, sometimes put a small order ever few years for a handful, they will all eventually die out due to the borers. So I will not invest that much time or money in them. In regards to paypal, Ive never experienced any issues with online payments with them. BTW you can set up a online bank with a fdic insured bank (many of them are just branches of thier physical building) and transfer small amounts into it to cover what you want. Then also set up a paypal "only" email account as well. This will take about a couple hours, but it puts lots of walls in front of someone trying to get information from you. Truth be told, more poeple will be "scammed" into giving thier money away then anyone ever hacking into an account and finding information. Silverkelt

I buy the single fans since they are cheaper and I wouldn't be able to afford some of the newer lilies as double fans. Just like seeds, I'm willing to wait a little until they bloom to offset the price. As far as bonues go, I'd rather have bonus of fans of the lily I purchased than something I don't like. I've thrown out many a bonus because of this. And I've never noticed this "bonus policy" except in the daylily world! I always thought it was nice, but strange. I don't get bonuses at Walmart, so I wouldn't expect one here. Nice, though, don't get me wrong. As far as the auctions, I got rid of a ton of daylilies in 2012 so I could make room for some newer and fancier ones. I've gotten some great ones this year with some good prices. I've got about 10 more lilies on my list to go and I've already purchased 5 in the Fall and have 7 coming in the Spring. I can't wait!!!

Dear Kris,
I have bought about 25+ times from there and have only had one person not come through with their end of the deal. The auction site usually will only refund your money of the order purchase was over $25.00, or at least that was what I was told the time I tried to get my money back. I lost $8.00 so they didn't refund my money as it was below their standard level for refunds. They did offer to contact the seller for me but they requested that I do so first. I know that most seller's will get put on a probation if they get too many negative feedbacks. I am sorry that you had this experience with them, unfortunely the scrapbook business is booming so fast that many people are trying to jump on the band wagon and not all of them know the craft or care about the people doing it. They also said I could fill out a post fraud report with the post office if I didn't get my item, that is an option for you too. Let me know how this ends. Penny

wow im sorry that that happened i just placed several orders with them on things for my wedding i have send payment so i hope i get my stuff. The times that i have ordered before it took me about 2 weeks to get my stuff but i got it. im not sure if there is anything that you can do but i would leave negative feedback.
