for my trip this weekend to Denver to meet the guy! Rich and I have had an online relationship from friendship to more for the past 2 years (almost)... I'm flying to Denver for a conference for work and will be meeting him...

Here's to hoping that he's everything I think he is and more...

My friend's mother had that exact surgery about five or six months ago. She too is very tiny. The surgery went well but it took awhile for the connection from the pancreas to the intestine to heal, with the doctors needing to widen the drain tube at one point as the draining wasn't going well. Just a thought to keep in the back of your mind. After staying almost six weeks in the hospital, she was released and is just fine now. We'll think positive thoughts for you and say a prayer!

Thank you, I let Marjorie know you are all sending prayers and good thoughts. Heather, I would be a nervous Nellie too. I would rather be put out in a minute. Yes, Shirley I will be there. They moved her surgery up so she will be going in at 11:30 am tomorrow instead of 1:45 pm. Paul is picking me up at 9:00 am and I will most likely stay until visiting hours are over at 8:00 pm It will be a long day but Paul is lending me his Ipod which has some tv shows and movies on it. I am looking forward to watching some Thin Man movies while Marjorie is being operated on and while in recovery. I am not sure how long the surgery will be. I really hope Marjorie doesn't fret too much because it isn't good for her heart and that concerns me. She wanted to make sure a crash cart was standing by. I told her of course it would be. Her heart rate isn't supposed to go over 130 bpm but most often than not it is quite higher than that when she stresses or gets excited over something. Thank you all again. Well, I went a long distance to meet a man I met on these forums, and it was one of the most wonderful experiences of my life. We aren't 'together' anymore, because life got in the way, but he is still dear to my heart. May the same blessing come to you!

I've never met any of my online romances but have enjoyed considerable emotional satisfaction. Sometimes I wonder if meeting them in the real world would have the same spark that lights the candle.

Bunnyman, YES - meeting someone whom you have a soul connection online with DOES have considerable emotional satisfaction and "spark" (it did for me). The key is to not 'expect' anything and, while being cautious, don't make any plans except to have fun. Of course, being nervous and scared is normal, but if both people discuss this before hand, there are few surprises. If you have developed that connection of the soul before you meet, there should be no important concerns.
