Help! Question about trim matching white cabinets
Comments (3)Oxford White is CC-30. It's on the same card as decorator's white in my sample. Now I am having major second thoughts on the White Dove because of some of the comments that I have read. People who have it seem to love it but many others have commented that it looks dingy. I really don't know what to think but after comparing our shutters, doors and trim to my samples, they are definitely Oxford White. I'm thinking that I definitely have to choose either Oxford White or something that is noticeably different. I asked my local store about samples. Yes, they will mix me a sample for $10. (Highway robbery if I want five lol) They did have some old small sample jars in their Affinity collection. They're very cheap so maybe I'll buy a few of those to give me an idea if I want a white or an off white/cream. Does anyone have a paint suggestion?...See MoreTweaking my kitchen: question about ceiling height cabinets
Comments (7)I would move the light (or hire an electrician to do it for me). A pain, yes - but once you see how much you like the extra space, you'd be sad to not have it on the sink wall as well! Will you be replacing the upper cabinets, or stacking a new cab above the old? If you are going with one, make sure to get at least one extra shelf for each set. I like having more shelves, with less stacking. And a tall, full-depth cabinet over the fridge is pretty wonderful too. Lots of storage options, when you can actually reach up there without a chair....See MoreA question about kitchen cabinets
Comments (4)I have three different finishes in my kitchen (white perimeter, knotty cherry island and a tall wall of a custom blue). The white is a fairly classic, near shaker but with a beaded inner edge. The blue have the same inner edge but also a beveled outer edge. The island adds a center raised panel. They all look related and I doubt most people ever notice the differences in the door styles as much as the different finishes. The one thing you might consider though is that if you ever want to paint them all the same color, you might notice the difference more - especially with them on the same wall. On the other hand, they are divided by the open space and counter -- and you could make them similar but intentionally different so they look related no matter how you have them finished. Would really have to see them and the space they will be in to say whether I would do it in your kitchen. But what kind of cabinet place sells cabinets where you can't get wall cabinets and bases in the same door style? Or is it because of the finishes you are choosing?...See MoreA few questions about light fixtures for my grey and white kitchen
Comments (15)Sorry but none of those examples work.. she has a cabinet door that opens out, so you cannot hang a pendant spaced based on 59 inches or you would be worried and or hitting the pendant every day. if the cabinet door is about 14 inches swing on one side and then the other you want them about 12 in from the end of the counter now your working with 33 inches and you want 12 inches between them so effectively they would 1 be off-center 2 be bunched together. the examples above are oversized and for open islands, not the same application....See Morebabushka_cat
