Printing on Vellum

When I print on vellum - and let it sit to make sure the ink is dry - it still smears. I'm using good HP ink cartridges. Any suggestions.

I have never printed on vellum but I have a friend who does. She said that if you are using an ink jet printer that there is vellum you can buy that is made specifically for ink jet printing so the ink will not smear. She said you can but it at Michael's the brand is Strathmore. below is also a link that carries it. She also said the only way for it not to smear is to use a laser jet printer. Hope this helps.

That is super pretty. My sis made one for me a couple of years. I love it. There was a gal on the Carol Duval show a few years back that was making them using a pic printed on vellum with an adhesive backing. They were super pretty. I've seen them at craft shows too. The guy was asking around $45 for it. That was too pricey for my purse especially when you can buy the blocks for about $8 a piece. Sal

XYLENE IS POISON. It also is sometimes found in natural gas at low concentration. To give you an idea of how poisonous: Dirt near a gas well is hauled away as hazardous waste if it contains 25 parts per million of xylene. If you can smell it, you are at risk. The stuff is tough on the liver at high doses, and carcinogenic at low doses. Stay safe. Buy the transfer paper or use an iron.

Sticker Plannet has some nice ones along with Paper Wishes. I have ordered from both and some I like better than others . You can also make your own using Xryon Machines, that you can get on line from JoAnns and other sites or from Michels using coupons but watch buying some items at WalMart. You can to to Xryon.com also.

StampinUp has vellum printed with small white snowflakes. They also carry snowflake stamps. I used these items to make candles. They carry the sheer ribbon at a great price too. You can stamp a large snowflake on the vellum using the Versamark pad. Then sprinkle the white embossing powder over. Heat the flake with a heat gun. It is very beautiful. If you want to add glitter, restamp with the Versamark, and sprinkle the glitter over the sticky Versamark area. It is very beautiful when done. Hope this helps. Stampimup is online.
