Hello All, I'm wondering, you can tell just by looking? If so what tell tale signs give away the secret.

I've tried some of the closets mentioned above for various closets around my home, i found that Modular Closet systems were far superior. (quite surprising actually, considering their cheaper price point then EasyClosets, CC and Ikea..) They're manufactured here in the US so that's good. They're made of hardwood with a really solid melamine surface. It's basically a fully customized closet storage system for the price of a store-bought shelving unit, plus they offer free design service which is really helpful especially if your like me and not a good DIYer. Assembly is quick and install is easy, I had my nephews help me with that. Little piece of advice: Once you got a good closet system to organize your stuff, you'll wonder how you ever lived without it!! Good Luck! Where vertical space matters and/or we don't care about being able to slide the clothes hung up, we just don't use the rod brackets or rod (we just put the clothes hangers right on the 'shelf.') If you have the 12" deep shelves, you could change them out to the 16" deep shelving if you want more depth for hanging things (i.e., when not using the rod brackets.) (We use this exact ClosetMaid ShelfTrack system in all our closets - our master closet looks alot like your photos.)

I would use regular hinges for the new, solid doors as they can handle more weight and will hold up for years without needing adjustment compared to things like Euro hinges in this application. You don't need more than three hinges. Your new doors may already come with the hinge mortises completed. In any case, it's unlikely that that the holes in the new hinges will line up with the existing holes in the jambs. As for catches, quality ball catches that are adjustable will work fine. Cheap, nonadjustable ball catches are a poor choice, and that is probably where your bad experience comes from. I have ball catches on a pair of doors into my laundry and my two pantries. I honestly don't understand the gas chamber mantra that gets tossed around here. We are physiologically designed to be more sensitive to and more disgusted by the waste of other people than our own. So anytime a person is forced to occupy a space that recently contained someone else's waste it is unpleasant for them. The best way to make it more pleasant is to limit the time any person might have to spend in a room where someone else's waste has recently been. The easiest ways to do that is to limit the purposes of the room used for waste or schedule waste activities so there is no overlap. Increasing the space to dilute the odors doesn't really work that well. If you don't believe me, take a walk near a cow pasture.

I can sometimes. It's intangible. It's the way gay men and women interact with those around them. I am not 100% by any means, but I can tell on occasion.

Well, not exactly. If you're talking about dating situations and your own intention is typical hetero relationship, I think the topic is fair game. People can be deceptive in all kinds of ways and sexual orientation can certainly be one of them. The stories I've heard from my dates (I'm male) over the years have been amazing....along the lines of girl's thinking "maybe husband material" but the guy's actually gay and doesn't fess up until months have gone by. Kind of a waste of time, I think, and can be painful.

Ya, I think one can 'tell' by watching mannerisms, listening to speach patterns and listening to how they relate to you in conversations.

We have had several politicians who have been married for years and finally 'come out' when someone 'finds them out' - I think, in a lot of cases, it takes close scrutiny, but the signs are there and you 'can tell'.

Also, in today's society, it's quite acceptable to 'come out of the closet' and be whom you really are.
