The standard modifications to the stock tank can be found on the Skippy's stuff site. Others have done various changes to the basic design as they decided they needed. I came here today because I have 3 days left before my mothers yearly visit. She flies out from the east coast on Monday. I have been working at decluttering and organizing for the last few months, but today as I look around...I am thinking I didn't do enough...there is still so much stuff! I am between putting myself down and patting myself on the back for what I did do. When my too much stuff really shows up is before my mothers visit every year! She is neat and clutter free...I am just the opposite! We have moved a number of times in my marriage, but each move was provided by my DH employer. I had a number of young children and got rid of nothing! They packed us up and they moved us. The extra stuff staying in boxes in the garage. Really, I love to shop and buy...it is a favorite pass time for me...other than grocery and necessary hardware type shopping. I have really been working on it to make a change in my behavior, but like someone said...I have not under gone a personality change. This is going to take continued effort on my part to get things in order and keep them there. Thanks...I needed to vent before I get onto dusting and vacuuming this morning. When I go to dust and vacuum is when I really know that I have too much stuff!

If we're talking about white microfiber, I might say maybe. Anything else, I doubt it's needed. A damp washcloth gets most things off microfiber. Or some Spot Shot, or the carpet spot shampooer, or a good flick. :) Here's another angle to consider. DH selected some leather home theater seating. He's a messy eater, and I knew he'd eat/drink on that furniture, and it wasn't the greatest quality of leather. So he opted to have it treated. His seat now shows wear. Mine still looks pristine...because I'm allergic to something in the treatment! If I sit on it for longer than a few minutes, I break out in a scaly rash anywhere my skin is in contact with the leather. So if I sit there, I have to drape a blanket over first anyway... may as well have gotten upholstery. :) I haven't sat in that furniture for at least 6 years now... and we will never buy another round of furniture protectant again!

@Lil S I was going to use a runner initially. But, I thought it shouldn't block the stairs or entrance to the kitchen. I guess I was thinking too much. I've never had a long hallway before, so I was stumped! I appreciate the feedback. @Karen Rose: Apparently, I was thinking way too much about this and should have went with my first gut. Ugh. Thank you so much! @groveraxle You are awesome for proving a link. I was looking on Wayfair and Overstock and couldn't find a runner longer than 13 feet. Since the 22 foot runners are only 2' 3" and wouldn't cover the opening of the front door. I think a indoor/outdoor rug and then a 16" would work, Yay
