Red Eye Pens??

Does anyone have any knowledge about red eye pens??? I purchased two different brands, haven't tried them yet and would love to hear your input about these pens. Do they work or does one brand work better than another? Thanks for any info. you can contribute....Cathy.

Since no one else has answered yet, I'll say something. :-)

I have a red eye pen that I bought from Wal-Mart about 3 years ago. I'm not sure of the brand, but I love it. It looks great on some pictures and not so great on others. I was afraid to try it at first, but got around that obstacle by getting duplicate pictures. I've found that it really helps some pictures. It doesn't put the eyes at exactly the color they need to be, but then again the people don't have devil eyes either. You can look at the picture without thinking this would have been a good picture except for.... Unless you're the one making the correction, you wouldn't know there had been a problem.

I haven't messed up any photos using the red eye pen. The only problem I've encountered is that you can create "beady" eyes when fixing some pictures. Overall, I really think the pen helps more than it hurts.

I bought Friskars brand and Zig brand and decided to just go ahead and try them both. I prefer the Zig. It was not as noticable to the naked eye...it has a very fine point so you have more control. You have to be very, very careful not to touch the pen to the skin colour as it will turn blue. I have to agree that anything has to be better than 'devil eye' I have since learned to use my red eye reduction.....that can be really challening when taking pictures of my 9 month old granddaughter. (hehe)

I don't think seedlings will be true to the parents. Sorry, can't help you there. I had Bright Eye but the original plants have died leaving me with seedlings that reverted to the species....not as pretty as the mother plants.

Yes it is a really nice trumpet! Like You see this flower is still going, but the new one has a nice trumpet shape. I wonder that all the flowers bloom one by one at the stalk! Thats not common. I did think, Jewel is normally a double. For that i am a bit confused! My 2 other bulbs bring only double flowers. Best regards

Chris - So sorry to hear PSM does NOT thrive in the North. Penny - Yes, the rain did cool things down Friday evening. Thanks for your comments about the photos! Mantis - I got Shamrock Spring last spring and it's still in a pot. The plant is still rather wimpy, and my blooms are not in the 7-inch range. They're more like almost 6 inches. I think I got that one from Abundant Daylilies on the Lily Auction. I hope it will do better once I get it in the ground. Val - Chris said PSM did not do well in Michigan. I'm thinking it's tender. Both Ruby Lipstick and W. Little Lamb should be rock solid in the North. Nancy - Glad to hear you got some rain in Kentucky too. My rain guage shows we got just about an inch. Maryl - None of three has a white background. Westbourne Little Lamb's petal color is light yellow. PSM has a light peach petal color, and Ruby Lipstick's petal's are ivory. In very hot temperatures, Ruby Lipstick's petals look white here. When nights are cool, the petals look more cream. Debra

If anybody has a few Red Eye Greasy beans to spare (only need 5 to get a start), I could trade you something that I have. I was going to buy some from Sample Seed Shop, but they sold out quick. Here is the link: http://www.sampleseeds.com/?page_id=3725 Thanks, Mike
