Kathleen...you are soo right about a difference since they were taken over. Now, being that you've gone to them way back as long as I...you would notice that. But, as you said, they still have great deals. My daughter and I always say... it's not like it used to be..but nevertheless, we still go!! For anyone who's a 'newbe', they would not know. When I was at the Cape this Summer, I was so disappointed that they closed one of them down, in Yarmouth Port...it was in a House with out buildings..and was really unique...also there has been lots of upheavel since BB&B took over. They moved the headquarters off the Cape and many lost their jobs. I guess, as the saying goes, nothing good lasts forever. You know there is one in Staten Island? I don't know what kind of trip that would be for you. My SIL's and their daughters are so thrilled, because they are opening one in Poughkeepsie. They usually travel to the one in Danbury CT. As soon as I get some pics together, and figure out how to send them...I will do so. I have lots of Christmas items as well as household, and some go way back.

LEMON TORTE Cake layers: 1 cup butter 2 cups sugar 3 cups flour 2 TBL baking powder 1 cup milk 8 egg whites Filling: 2 cups powdered sugar 8 egg yolks 1 TBL butter Grated zest of 1 lemon Juice of 2 lemons For the cake layers: Cream butter & sugar until light & fluffy. Sift together flour & baking powder & add to butter mixture alternately w/milk. Beat egg whites until stiff; fold into mixture. Grease three 9" cake pans & divide the mixture evenly between them. Bake in a preheated 350° oven for 25 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool layers. For the filling: combine all filling ingredients in the top of a double boiler & heat over boiling water, stirring constantly until the mixture thickens. Remove from heat, cool & spread between layers. Frost top & sides w/White Icing, if desired.~~ Food for Thought White Icing 1 3/4 cups sugar 2 egg whites 1 TBL light corn syrup 1 tsp vanilla 1/2 cup water 1/2 cup chopped marshmallows Beat first 5 ingredients at high speed for 1-2 minutes. Pour into top of a double boiler. Add marshmallows & cook over rapidly boiling water for 5-8 minutes. Pour into a bowl & beat until spreading consistency.~~

Glad to read you passed on the chairs. They are cute and I like the legs, but as others already said they don't get with the style of the room. We had similar requirements for a chair for our master bedroom. I stumbled across a very nice sleek recliner (that you'd never guess is a recliner) at Macy's which was also quite reasonable. If this is a family/TV/Video room perhaps your family might enjoy relaxing in it. My DH loves ours! It is 32"Wx35"D as we also had limited space. We got it in red, but they did have a few other fabrics. Perhaps it might work for your space? I did get mine for quite a bit less than their online price so perhaps the store prices are cheaper. How nice of you to help this cat! Yes, there are vaccinations for cats he will need, especially if allowed outside some. There are also medications to help kill fleas if he has those. You won’t need to bathe him regularly. Cats do a good job of keeping themselves clean. Most people who keep cats indoors at least a good share of the time have a litter box with litter in it for the cat to potty in when it can’t go outside. And they usually know what it is for right away! If be gets thirsty or hungry enough he will be back! Good luck
