Happy to find new friends

I love this idea, wish I had found it in the dead of winter.

I am 62 yrs old and retired a year ago. Adjusted to widowhood of 7 years, lots of activities but sometimes when that little lonely stuff starts I just want to chat. Looks like the people who come to this coffeehouse will be great. Look forward to talking to you in the future.

Welcome, It is a nice place to visit. I have been a widow for 2 years and have no intention of marrying again. I didn't mind being single until I broke my harm and found out it's hard to cope being alone with a handicap. It made me realize there is a need for a different kind of singles organization (locally), a group to help another in their time need. Transportation, get groceries for each other, opening a can etc.. LOL

Katy, Logee's is certainly an adventure in itself. I've been going there for years. My first times were when Joy Martin was running it. Even squeezing through the aisles single file is worth it. So many exotic plants growing over, under and around! It's only about a 40 minute ride for me. I don't know of any other greenhouses that have that kind of variety. The botanical center at Roger Williams Park here in Providence is big and interesting. There's a $3 admission though. Lunch afterwards would not be a problem. Providence has tons of great restaurants. Maybe some others here would be interested in one of these or something else. Bill

My thanks, too, to loves2cook and to all the other Kitchen Forum citizens who so freely share all they have learned and continue to learn about the art and science of creating wonderful kitchens. I have gleaned so much from all of your experiences, and this year I will be able to put this knowledge to work. With luck our contract with our builder will be signed by the end of this week, and we will then be able to start putting all the rest of our ducks in their respective rows--or, rather, their full-extension Blumotion soft-closing drawers!

Happy New Year, All! We usually just hang out in front of the tv for the evening but our neighbors and their two girls came over as they are still waiting for their remodel to finish. We sure had a good time. Thankfully the only thing we have to do today is take down the outdoor lights as we did the rest yesterday.
