Removing caulk before installing backsplash
Comments (10)Looks like caulk to me, however, why are you installing a backsplash? You already have a backsplash. When that piece is put up around the top of countertops, it is a backsplash and installing another above that, just does not look nice. You may want to remove that entire 4"? piece, clean the wall good, make any repairs from the removal, and then install your backsplash, if you want another type....See MoreMistake Caulking Floating Panels. Comments (4)Spud painter is a well known hack in the professional community. Clickwhore good at social media. Terrible terrible painter. Strip completely, dig out the caulk with dental pics, DA wash, and start over. With a better coating than kem aqua. Comments (3)Your explanation is quite confusing as you use grout and caulk interchangeably and I believe in the wrong context at times. All changes in plane need to be 100% silicone caulk, never grout. Remove all the grout (or as much as humanly possible) and replace with silicone. You started the project, now you need to finish it properly, although a 20 year old shower mat lead to more questions and decisions in the near future....See MoreRemoving old caulk from drywall
Comments (2)Trick? No. Elbow grease and experimentation. 60 grit sandpaper to agress it off or cut off the paper face completely, then oil prime, sand, skim coat with drywall mud, sand, prime....See Moremacv
