Storing 'unscrapped' pics

OK - I'm trying to conquer one of my fears...maybe you guys can help me. I have about 7 years of pictures stored in photo-safe boxes, but I cannot bring myself to take them out of the little "envelopes" that they came in. So the pics are in the envelopes which are stuck in the boxes. This probably isn't even safe for the pics. Any comments?

Dear Anne,
If it is a photo safe box, then it should be okay. Here is what I have been doing. I take about one pack a week to the store and have them copied or reprints if I have the negatives. I then put the orginals back in the box and scrap the others. I will keep all the ones I have done at my daughter's home so that in case of fire, my photos are still safe. Penny

Yes, I keep mine in envelopes in the box. Hint....get a ph pen. One that checks acid content in paper. I bought a 'photo safe' box at Michael's. I checked it with the pen. Guess what? Acid! The Reebok shoebox I had been using was far more acid free than the box I had just spent $4.00 on!!!!

I stacked in close to my last load and hopefully it will be all Oak or Ash or Pecan mixed in. I did think to face the bark up and can easily see the advantage of resisting water and not holding water in the grain. The squirrels were nice and did not show after running into the wood as I started. Approximate 6- 6.5 feet off the ground I appreciate their cooperation. LOL!

Dear Larsi, I do hope she will be alright, if I were in Stockholm I could look after your spouse. Karolinska hospital is a good place and have good care, I were born there. No Persil has not been aold here for many years, we did get the pearls when they were new but I do not know why we dont get anymore. Roc: if yiu ever come here please tell me I would love to have you visit. Jase: yes they arw small but ours are very concentrated, you dont need much if you got soft water wich most of sweden has.

My cuttings of stem-and-leaf mandarins appear to have failed this spring. I think they just get too dehydrated in the store. Whereas a bud (for grafting) probably has enough energy in it and is easier to 'hydrate' once grafted. I don't know. I would have grafted mine, but didn't have enough window of time to do it. Need to pull out all the tools; find the appropriate rootstock; make sure its bark is slipping, etc. etc. Crazy with a kid at home and wife working full time. My time is not always my own to pursue my hobbies!
