I bought a set of Omnigrid Marking Ruler Trio - for adding a quarter - they specifically say not to use with rotary cutters. Live and learn - They are only good for drawing a 1/4" line such as for HST - I never would have bought them had I realized I can't use them w/ the rotary cutter. I am using a 12" mat that turns next to the machine, and I am waiting for delivery of a small iron that Gwen ( sunnycentralfl) recommended. I'm really on the fence about buying the smaller cutter. If you have the one I'm thinking of (clear plastic, long handle you hold and another spins to make the circle), I do like that one, my mom has it and it works pretty smoothly. I have found that most cutters work better on glass (I have a glass cutting board) I don't have a circle cutter--want to get one!--but do have the Fiskars oval and don't really like it. I also have a doodle cutter...works good with strong templates and on a glass cutting board. It takes alot of practice, but works better than scissors; especially for making fun shapes and it's very compact! I think as part of Natl Scrapbook Day, I may end up getting the CM cutting system (circles/ovals) I used it at a party once and my pics looked so much nicer than when using scissors. Hi Fran...I never could get the cutters to work right....I have several and probably the one that you have. You hold down on the middle and then cut your circle around it...while holding down firmly...never works. I did succeed, however, in cutting a half circle on my table top one time, though. I haven't found one yet that works well...Deanna

OH MY!!!! HOW COOL!!! I have high speed internet and it was instant and very neat to watch!! My local stained glass gals are totally old school too! They told me to buy a kiln instead of a saw!!! I made my board like that, hmmm where is it?! He makes it look so easy!lol! I just seem to move the glass some how! If I'm using a ruler, I move the ruler some how!! Even if it is a T ruler!!!! I'm so hopeless! I just can't seem to wanna spend time practicing! WOW! Your teacher sounds really nice, and thorough! To teach you with clear glass and taking all these weeks! I went to a 4 wknd course and barely learned the fundimentals!!! So what is your copperfoil project looking like? I love the copper foil method, haven't done the leaded glass as of yet, 7rs!lol! Bought all the stuff and haven't gotten there yet! If you are like me, before long you will have 1/2doz window projects in mind, a bunch of lampshades ya wanna do...the list is endless!!ha! Just don't loose momentum on a project!!! My peacock panel is STILL not done and it's been like, 5yrs!!! Oh my! That's insane when I type it out loud!!!
