Favorite colors

What are your favorite colors to work with in your scrapbook? I like yellow, it seems to go well with most of the pattern paper and also matches most solids. I also like the darker colors. Penny

Guess you & I are the early birds today Penny!! LOL I like pastels and the dark "country colors". Although white is still the old standby if I have something fun to try with stickers, die cuts or punchies... Hilary

I think I use pink the most, but that's mainly because my daughter wears a lot of pink so I try to match the colors to her clothes.

If I look through the book, I find a lot of red, blue, kelly green - primary colors. :) I like 'em bright.

I like to have different color areas because I like them all. Warm color garden (Roses, salvia, nasturtium, geraniums, etc.) Yellow Orange Pink Red Cool color garden (Hydrangeas, lilac, lobelias, delphinium, etc.) Blue Lavender White Cool Pinks And of course healthy green foliage and rocks in earth tones spaced throughout.

I've always loved orange daylilies, and my first sight of PRIMAL SCREAM merely confirmed that love. Really like brown daylilies as well....and yellow, well, no need to say any more. Yellow daylilies are WONDERFUL! Mauve to me is probably not what mauve is to an artist or colorist. Naturally, no daylilies come to mind at the moment, but I've seen what I think of as mauve intros and have not cared for them. My recollection is of a palish, dirty purple-pinkish shade. Not that that's very helpful I'm sure! In fact, someone mentioned ALWAYS AFTERNOON, which is in fact a mauve. But I've seen it and have liked it well enough, and I've not thought of it as mauve. But EAGLE NEST is very much NOT mauve IMO! And Faye Shooter would probably agree with me, seeing as how she registered it as a "medium purple." :) All this as a way of saying that my new least favorite color is a dirty lavender-pink. :)))

I got to "thinking" further and realize I have sort of done that very thing, just not stacking the barrels on top of the other. I have a two tiered corner bed, where I have some barrels and hosta at differing levels, and so on and it works for me! Here's that corner, the subject of many pics. I have taken! In this one, you don't see my current situation where I put a barrel in place of the smaller and whiter pot to the right and another one down and behind the Lady Isobel Barnett on the same right! I did this at the end of the season with some of the many barrels I purchased on clearance! And another example of "tiering": I love the effect of higher and lower hosta placements! I think it gives the best views of some of those vase-shapes, especially, to be up high so you can truly appreciate their uprightness! I think it also gives a depth and dimension to the garden not easily achieved by one-level plantings! I'm done now--for awhile--back to the rest of you!! :o) Janice PS Note the "Sugar and Cream" (white margined, but lighter green--shhhhh--don't tell! I'm not suppose to like the white margins!)

I'm with Seil and Ben - nothing makes my heart go pitter patter or my wallet go "poof" faster than a picotee, mutable or striped rose, the more high contrast the better. After that I'm drawn to the "oddball" colors of russet, parchment or lavender (or best all three together, like Distant Drums or Koko Loko). Dark dark burgundy flowers also zing something in my soul. As for wafting, even without my poor nose nothing really wafts very far in my dry climate. We don't get wafting of hyacinths and lilacs in the spring even though I have 100's of the former and 3 well established bushes of the latter. Peonies you have to get up close to smell, and the same for lilies. I'll get a vague "pleasant smell" from an area with over 10 Stargazer lilies blooming, but even my son with the hypersensitive nose doesn't gag at the smell. It just dissipates too fast. I never knew Darlow's Enigma or Marie Pavie were supposed to have any scent at all, and even my daughter with a good nose shrugs when presented with a bouquet of those. I like fragrance when I can get it, but I look far more often than I smell, as far as roses go. Cynthia

I usually only use colored paper to matt a pic. I choose one thing in the pic (such as a red baseball hat) and match that color to the paper.

I tend towards earth tones...heathered greens, denim blue, even tans and browns.

I like to match up the colors to something in the pictures. I really like to use all shades of blue. ( my favorite color ) I have found some acid free construction paper...maybe I will use some of it soon? Has anyone used it before????

hey all my favorite colors to work with in my scrapbooks are reds, blues, and black. it really is not a dark looking as it sounds though because i also use lots of bright colors too it depends on the pictures.

Depends on the pictures and the accessories I use with them then I match up the colors. But my most favorite colors are the country blues, greens, anything muted.

I use whatever color complements the patterned paper I'm using.. OR i base it on what we are wearing in the picture.

I do notice that I use a ton of aqua, and I NEVER use the peach!
