Beginner

Hi everyone! I have been interesting in starting scrapbooking. Can someone help me by telling me how to get started? Should I attend a class first? If so how can I find out about a class in my area? Should I buy one of those starter kits they sell at the craft shops? Can someone help me? I have not bought any supplies I am afraid I'll be buying the wrong ones. Does someone know any good websites where I can begin?

If you have one in your area most scrapbook stores offer classes. Read all of the posts on this forum tons of usefull information. Also, here is a great link to tons of scrap sites. Have fun!

My first piece of advice would be to read all the back log of postings on this forum. There are several people who are beginners that posted similar questions (like me) with great responses from those who are not beginners. There is a great thread called "to crop or not to crop" with lots of great tips. It may take you a while to read them all, but there's tips and ideas that have been invaluable (to me anyway.) There's also gracefulbee.com and scrapbookingobsession.com that are great sites. Two of my favorites. Check out books from your library (I got 9 different books at mine) and scrapbooking magazines are also good resources for the beginning and seasoned scrappers. I wouldn't worry about easiest, what is easy in one climate is difficult in another. If you want to learn how to grow dahlias look at some of the 30 or so short videos Kristine Albrecht has on growing dahlias. She is a famous hybridizer, bu more importantly for us backyard growers, she is one of the BEST teachers in the country! I followed your advice, and you were right. Thank you! Of course, I'll look into this further, but I already feel relieved. Here's a skill that should be taught - explaining something in a way a complete beginner can understand. I still wouldn't say working with Jira is super easy, but at least I am getting an idea of what I'll need to do and how.

Beginner apple tree initial care

Hello, first time trying to grow fruit trees. I’m in central NC near Raleigh. Just bought a dwarf Pink Lady and a semi dwarf Fuji apple tree from local big box store. Both actively flowering. Pink Lady is about 7/8” diameter, Fuji is about 1-1/4”. I’ve been reading up on pruning but am unclear if i should prune right away, or if it’s too late already this season and i should wait? It also seems like the Fuji has 2 leaders. I believe i should prune 1 off, whenever it is the right time to do so. Is that correct? Lastly my understanding is i should not allow these to try to bear this year & maybe next too. Should i pinch the flowers now, or just wait and pinch any fruitlets that appear?
