Has anyone worked with this transparent stuff yet in their scrapbooks? I'm just wondering about how to glue without seeing the glue.

Vellum is beautiful! but very hard to find a glue that doesn't show. The only one I found was the crayola glue stick. It goes on blue but dries clear, but even with that you can see a hint of the glue. Most people put the glue or double sided tape under an image on the vellum so you can't see it. Are you using the vellum as a cover sheet? or are you using it to mount your pics or images?

Two other ways to glue without it showing...either spray adhesive, or Xyron adhesive.

Someone must have the answer. My first thought was water. maybe hot water - really hot. I know a heat gun will practically destroy it but maybe if you try a piece in the hottest water your fingers can stand it might work, At least the water shouldn't hurt it.

my only suggestion would be to try scoring the lines first to break the grain of the paper fibers. Use a light touch with something like a fine stylus or a heavy tapestry needle. Listen for a scritching sound and make a thin light line on the vellum but don't press so hard that you break through the paper.

Vellum Glue???

I recently made 50th anniversary invitations and used translucent vellum inside the card. It was placed over a current picture of the couple. I used Scotch Permanent Adhesive Glue Stick. It worked great. It goes on "purple" and dries clear. There was no clumping under the vellum as I have seen in other glue sticks. Scotch also has a resticable adhesive glue stick. It works in the same way the Scotch (3M) "stickies" do. I love working with both products. Hope this was helpful and not too late. I just found this site yesterday and I am hooked!!!! Debbie

There is a new craft glue available at Micheal's that glues vellum without it showing, but for the life of me I can't think of the name. The 3M photo spray also works good and right now it is on clearance at walmart for 3.00 a can. Love Penny
