Thanks Robert- I use Dynamite as well and think it is a good fertilizer. I use the red on some things and the green on many others. For years, our local Adenium grower has recommended the red (13-13-13) for all Adeniums purchased from them. I used a lot of it on some big plants (huge sagos and the sort) last year and it got a little expensive so I'll definitely check out Amazon. I do not know about the shelf life but if I had to guess I'd say you're probably good as long as you keep it sealed up and out of heat and light. Since it is time release, it isn't like lawn fertilizer that gets all caked up and nasty.

Wish I could get a better photo. For some reason I have a hard time photographing that side of the room due to so much light coming in that window. Plus you don't get the height or area of the room - or the right color on the walls. Unfortunately, that IS how the floor under the window looks. :) One obvious problem: The panels could have been 8" longer, 10 -12" longer would be perfect for a little pooling at least. But I knew this when I ordered them that 108" was going to come up short, was just hoping I could live with it - we'll see. Like I say a little more length would be nice tho. The 96" panels I put on the door pool very nicely. Every time I try to photograph them they look brown. I was telling a friend that if I could find a real good seamstress I would be tempted to buy another 63" panel and have her/him add some of the fabric to bottom of the 108"s after letting out the hem. It always takes me awhile to get used to something new. Plus the drapes will only be up over the winter months, and I'll be the only one to see them. Besides, I waited so long for them I hate to send them back! Only time will tell if I go crazy seeing them that high above the floor. ha.

It's true, though, about Bourbons. I know from photos, that where they're happy, they're happy, but I've never YET met a Bourbon that wanted to live where I live. That's a real pity -- I love their look, but I know when to admit defeat. Still true about the pruning thing. Most of your Austins are budded. Most of the older roses -- are not. And until they build up some substance, pruning is the last thing most of the oldies need.
