wonbyherwits, your framed photos are beautiful, original art. There is something about European architecture being sepia tone that makes it seem romantic and vintage - they look wonderful. Your color photo looks great too. I have done similar with some of my photos, printed them on my printer, and framed them with frames I purchased at Target or Michaels. Below are a couple of photos I took in Baja this past winter. They are hanging above my kitchen desk area. I manipulated them with a photo editing program to have more aqua color as that is my accent color. My photo editing program has the capability of making photos sepia toned, but I never thought of using it - I will have to try that, thanks for a great idea wonbyherwits. I have also taken some of my photos to Kinko's, had them blown up and transferred/mounted on canvas - another inexpensive way to obtain art for your walls.

That paper is so beautiful, I wouldn't use either the blue or green tile with it, but a piece of your countertop or white tile. I think the paper looks better with the light counter and light floor than with the colored tile. eta: after clicking on your link that shows the full pattern of the wallpaper, I'm totally convinced you shouldn't use colored tile as a backsplash.
