I'm far from an expert, but that doesn't look right to me. I would have a discussion with the fabricator about it.

I'm no expert either, but I would freak out if my counter looked like those pictures! Maybe they fill that with something?

Your slab wasn't cut with one of those fancy, super expensive, computer driven machines (CNG is it?), was it?

That looks problematic. Even if they wanted to fill it, the two face edges don't even line up correctly. I would call someone immediately.

According to the Marble Institute of America:

"Joint (seam) widths between two stoneunits should equal 1/16" (1.5
mm), with atolerance of �1/64" (�0.4 mm). In such cases where a larger
joint width has been specified, the tolerance is to be �25% (� �)of
the nominal joint width. Joint width does not include the dimension of
an arris (a smallchamfer, approximately 1/16" x 1/16") on the stone
edge. When an arris is used, the perceived joint width may be greater
than the actual width due to the seam filler occupying the width of
the arris."

There should be no detectablelippage at the front or rear edge of the
countertop. Maximum allowable lippage at the center of the countertop
is 1/32" (0.8mm).

Visiblejoints between stone and other materials(e.g., cabinetry,
gypsum wall board) shall be1/8", with a tolerance of �1/16" (�1.5mm),
and filled with a soft, elastic material.

I would get someone on the phone NOW and ask why yours are so off from these guidelines! What are they going to do, fill it w/ grout? I would NOT be ok with that if it were my counter.

This definitely does not meet the requirements posted by beaglesdoitbetter. Between wall and granite it's over 1/4". In the granite joint the gap is huge because it's not even aligned.

But - nothing is straight. Pretty sure that's not ok. The top picture, I'm not sure what I'm looking at - can you post a longer distance pic of the area?
