If you could only have one SB tool what would it be?

Since getting more used to it I would probably say the fiskers trimmer, the tool that I wouldn't get again is the fiskers oval cutter. Penny

Hmmmmmm..only one eh? Hmmmmmmm....yep, I guess I would have to pick my paper trimmer too. As for one that I wish I hadn't spent the money on...would either be my paper crimper or the old version of the CM circle cutter.

Campanula, That post was nothing short of inspirational, i'm very moved :) I am now on the look out for jonquila. lol An unfortunate coincidence, 2 days prior to reading your post I was staring jonquilla baby moon in the face, among about 50 other spring bulbs at a store. In the end, I went with hyacinth city of haarlem because it seemed to be highly regarded as a fragrant, and unusually colored hyacinth. I regret my choice.....might be going back there to pick up baby moon for that "heart-lifting" fragrance. They are really adorable little flowers. I also found that hyacinth very rarely propagate themselves, and need to be lifted and scored after going dormant if you want it to spread......among other unfavorable mentions on hyacinths. I still adore them, and look forward to the fragrance each year at a public garden. Hopefully city of haarlem will not be fussy in my yard. As my favorite daffodil, don't have one. This is my first year messing with daffodils. I picked up a mixed set of 'ice king' and 'delnashaugh'. Hope they perform well. Hopefully I snag some baby moon before it's too late. I feel a favorite coming on if I get it.

Pepperomia..I have a couple questions about COT's..Do you have the small and large flower varieties? If so, I'm sure your small flowers blooms most of the year, right? Can you tell me if the large flower does the same? Last summer I had a 1 1/2-2' large flower w/bi=colored flowers..it was outside,.of course we had tons of rain and it drowned..I was devestated..Anyway, I have 2 10"H large flower COT"S..other than leaves there aren't any flowers..Is this normal? Are they still too young to bloom? Although the small flowers bloom at a young age. I've seen them sold at stores, 6" tall loaded w/flowers. Question 2..I was given 2 variegated COT cuttings..the woman who sent them said they'd probably die since she didn't take proper care of them and they'd been sitting in her yard for months..I planted the two, about 5" tall, into a 4" pot..one died..the other is hanging on. I've removed the dead COT's..My question is, since I place C&S's outside in summer, should I place the Var COT's outside or keep indoors where I can keep an eye on it? Also, should I water a bit more than normal? (not sopping wet but moist)? I'd really want this plant to live, but don't know how to keep it going..If you have an answer, I'd appreciate all the help I can get.. Lonicera - a vigorous (to the point of invasive) plant, but not at all fussy, takes dramatic shearing and pops back, and I will never tire of the fragrance. I keep it in bounds by growing it as a standard, which has the extra advantage of keeping the flowers at a convenient height for sniffing.

Thanks for the responses. I have no idea what building codes require but my architect will know. The problem is that I want the house to keep the old-house feel even though the upstairs will be all new construction. So recessed cans don't really fit that concept. I suppose I could do a couple of overhead fixtures that aren't recessed cans, but I just really like sconces. Good points about not having them all on one wall, but on the opposite wall there are a lot of doorways and the opening to the stairs, so I'm not sure if there's even a logical place on the opposite wall to place a fixture. I'll take another look at the plans, and next week I'm taking my first "field trip" down to the house to walk through and see the progress in person! They have most of the upstairs walls up, and the roof is going on this week.

I don't think it is fair to limit us to one tool - after all don't our men get to have ALL the tools???? : ) But I would have to say the Fiskars paper trimmer. I am assuming that scissors are required and therefore excluded from the list of options!!

And just fyi, I don't have the CM circle cutter but I do have another and I like it when I want a circle shape.

I also like my paper trimmer best, cause I can't cut straight! What all do you do with the crimper.

only one i would have to say my basic black acid free pen. since i have been scrapping my pics are more close ups than they use to be and i hardly ever crop anymore.

My paper trimmer is my favorite..biggest waste of money my oval cutter...I have yet to get a perfect oval...I just keep cutting into my paper and my oval gets smaller and smaller..LOL

I have to say Coluzzle, no paper trimmer...wait, really just one?, hmmm...(do I have to give up my AccuCut machine?)ok, my Carl cutter is it because the Fiskars paper trimmer doesn't cut straight every time.
