4'x 6' albums

The 4" x 6" albums are great for grandparents that live far away. I made one for my grandmother and she loves it. When I sent it to her I only put about a dozen pages in it. As my sisters and I get new pictures developed, we make up new pages (using a template of the page size that I made) and drop them in the mail to her. Her album is continuously growing. As are her great grandchildren that she loves to get pictures of. The 4" x 6" pages are really fun to make. You can do a lot with even that small of a page.

I totally agree, Carrie! Mini gift albums are SO FUN to make! I kept hearing about them and seeing them at Michael's but didn't give them too much thought. But Christmas came around and the idea became just too cool as personal and unique gift. I'm so glad I finally decided to try and make one.

I found that the little pages aren't limiting at all -- you're right, Carrie, you can do so much with them! I made a gift album for my df (link below) using all my "leftover" pictures -- I was at a loss with what to do with them. It was sooooo QUICK and easy to make. I believe it's Sue who has a link to a mini album on this forum as well. Hers is really cool! EVERYONE, DO TRY THESE AT HOME! :o)

Hi. I have some ideas. I am planning to make "Birthday Books" for all my kids. Right now I only have a 2 year old. This way I keep my family albums and when he turns 18 I am going to give him a book of pages of birthdays since his first "O" days old party. I also have used the CM 5x7 albums to make ABC/123/Nursery Ryhme books for my son to read so he does not ruin the big ones and he loves them. I also gave my mother in law a brag book for her birthday. Lots of BIG ideas for SMALL books

Wow..talk about a small world...if you go west out of Greenford on 165 for exactly one mile you come to the jct of Middletown Rd, beside Bob Shepherds farm and the electric substation. Turn left on Middletown Rd and go north exactly one mile till it dead ends with Beaver Creek Rd (or maybe I got those road names reversed...LOL), and at that dead end my Grandads farm lane turned left when the road turned right.. I spent every summer and every weekend at Grandads farm. If you had anything to do with horses in those days you may have known my Grandad, Charles Sheen, who was the best blacksmith within 100 miles. Now talking about silly things. In the early 70's I was living here in Massachusetts and I drove a Plymouth Duster 340 muscle car. I had a CB radio with a Public Address system and a loudspeaker under the hood. I was working in a hardware store on High Street in Holyoke and there was a municipal parking lot on the opposite side of the street with metered parking. i used to park my car in the front row right by the sidewalk, drop a nickle in the meter, which was only good for one hour, then I went across the street to work. During the day I would watch the meter from the store and when the little red flag came up on the meter I would take out a walkie talkie and talk to the radio in the car, which then came out the loudspeaker...I would watch for some nice looking, unsuspecton senior citizen to be walkng by and I would say....."Pssst Pssssssssssst, excuse me" The senior would stop and look around and I would say, "Pssst, please, can you help me,,,my driver has gone off and let my meter expire,,,if the cops see it they will tow me away....I hate to get hauled in by the cops,,,could you please put a nickle in my meter?????" And nearly every time, the person would look at the car and see there is no one in it, the meter is expired and they would slowly take out a nickle, put it in the meter and walk away with a little smile...

Diane- I went to the link you posted for the scrapbook cookbook, but didn't see anything for it. It was a link to a print-your-own mouse pad. I went back to the Canon Print Planet home page and tried looking in a few different places for it, but couldn't find it. Could you give me more specific instructions on how to get to the specific page that shows the cookbook? This seems like a great thing for Mother's Day. Thanks! -Sarah

I am dealing with tile size and proportion with my small fireplace now. I would strongly suggest mocking both sizes up in person. I predict the answer will be clear to you immediately if you do that. Tile that is too big for a small space can look really weird because only a few tiles cover the whole space. There isn't enough tile repetition for it to look right. You could continue your counter top material up just behind the sink to take care of the window issue. Like this:

I have a 3.5' by 5' powder room literally tucked under the stairs. The door is only 20" wide. I seriously doubt that it meets code but it was here before we bought the house. The previous owners' son was a plumbing contractor. It does function as what we call the "world's tiniest half bath". We remodeled it a couple of years ago. The hardest part was finding a sink that would work. The best part was choosing tile for the floor. With less than 18 square feet of flooring, even the most expensive tile we liked didn't blow the budget.

I have never tried a 4x6 album, but I always wanted to.

My question is where do you get paper, page protectors and a binder in that size? The only scrapbook store in our area only sells 8x11 and 12x12 things. I am assuming that 4x6 paper is only 8x11 paper cut in half, but where do you keep your pages when they are done. I have seen spiral bound books on tv, but how do they hold up without page protectors on them?

Can anyone suggest a nice mail order or website where I can purchase supplies for a 4x6 album?

I would really like to make one with my sons.

Heidi, The 4x6 album I used was not acid free. Each page has a sleeve to slip your page into. The one I got had 100 pages in it and you could put a page on the front and the back. I did use all acid free paper and stickers though. I went ahead and used the 4x6 album even though it was not acid free because I was making it for my 89 year old grandmother and I didn't think she could handle the large acid free albums. I knew she could handle the smaller album easier and it would not be too heavy or okward for her to carry. If someone does know where the acid free 4x6 albums are available I would love to get some. They do make nice gift size albums.

Creative Memories has 4 x 6 albums. I bought my daughter the 12 x 12 and my grandaughter the 4 x 6 for Christmas so we could all scrap together.
