I rewrite the whole thing and stick it right over the mistake. Sometimes I even put it on a second piece of contrasting paper to 'frame' it. Looks cool.

SOMETIMES you can take the edge of your craft knife and SOFTLY scrap away small mistakes made while writing, but just removing the VERY TOP layer of paper underneath your mistake. I am stressing the words sometimes, and softly, and a little at a time, or you will have a bigger mess than you started with. You can also draw a design over the area in the shape of something relating to the design on the page, or you can put a sticker on top of it too. As you can tell I am pretty good at making them to start with. I envy those of you who have beautiful handwriting. Penny

I forgot to add that lightly removing the top
layer of the paper or ink, only works sometimes,
and it must be the thicker type of paper, such as
card stock, and if the mistake is not very big.
DO NOT try this with thin paper, or a large
mistake, because there is no top layer to scrap
away, you will end up tearing the whole sheet,
and making a bigger mess than you started with.

The best way is to do your journaling on a separate piece of paper, like a die cut or a matted shape, and apply it as the final stage of your layout. I very rarely write directly on the page anymore.

I rarely journal on anything other than the page itself. I might put dates or the title of the page on a diecut or other piece of paper. I do however, write it out first on a scrap piece of paper so that I know what it is I want to write (if its a lot of journaling) If I make a mistake I am likely to cover it with a sticker. I have also cut a small strip of acid free white card stock, just big enough to cover the mistake and stick it on, and they rewrite over top. Too bad they don't have an acid free white-out!! LOL

I always write directly on my page and I've been using a white gel pen to correct any mistakes. It doesn't cover it 100% but it covers it well enough for me to write over it and bluff a little. I've yet to have anyone notice the corrections.

WHen I use the gel pen, I usually trace my letters rather than scribbling or covering the area. and after it's dried, I go over it a 2nd time to give it a solid coating. So far so good. :)

Thanks, I have used my gel pen before, but it just ran out of ink! Oh well, back to the scrapbook store :)
