Camelia Japonica buds won't open
Comments (5)Indeed, many many years ago, I had a sudden drop of temperatures in December that was apparently timed such that my normally Dec-Jan blooming camellias actually bloomed in March. So now I am never taken aback when the blooming time is delayed again. But if your camellias are of the type that bloom later then you just need to wait. In case you do not know what variety you have then just let them be until they bloom. At that time, make a note in a wall calendar so you will remember in future years. If you know what camellia variety you have, you can list the name here so someone can search normal blooming times for you. You can also do an Internet search as well. If your variety is called "x" then do a find in yahoo/google/etc for "camellia x" and select pages belonging to mail order companies or plant wholesalers. They will indicate the blooming time with terms like 'early blooming', etc....See MoreAre you all doing a keyed knob and a deadbolt on exterior doors?
Comments (9)Sounds like you're getting close, threeapples!! We thought about this very question long & hard and finally decided to go with standard entry knob (lever in our case) with a single deadbolt. The thing that tipped the scales for us was thinking back to all the times we inadvertently locked ourselves out of the house using the knob with the lock built in. DH's solution to this when it occurred was to push the lever to it's breaking point and voila the door would open. If it's really that easy to break the darn thing to gain entry, then it's really not worth the hassle. Plus we couldn't get anymore of our lever sets in the new house as they were discontinued shortly after we purchased--no extras to set aside for when we would have eventually had to break a few. Hope this helps!...See MoreCraftsmen Door Opener Won't Work
Comments (4)I also have a Craftsman garage door opener that was installed by a previous owner and lack an owner's manual. My remote only worked a couple of times after I bought the place, so I've been punching in my code on the keypad to open the door. The door started acting funny - closing, then occasionally re-opening. I changed the keypad code 2 weeks ago and everything has been fine, until today. I entered my code and the keypad started blinking, usually if I press 'enter' again, the door will open. Today it didn't. I tried re-entering my code, with the same result. The keypad panel has instructions on how to reset the code and how to set a temporary pin. I tried the temporary pin procedure, but it is difficult to pull off when you can't see if the motor light is blinking. My car is locked in the garage. (detached garage) I don't know the model number on the motor, but my remote is model #139.53681B (I only have one) The keypad has one section that looks like it can be removed - one tiny screw holds it on - I think this is where the battery is? (I don't have a screwdriver small enough to open it) Ideas on what is wrong with the keypad? Any suggestions on how to get the door open?...See MoreHelp with Kwikset Deadbolt Jam
Comments (13)There is a brand new product on the market that fixes this problem for GOOD. No more jacking with your deadbolt and strike plate. It's called Sure-Strike (www.sure-strike.com) and it's the only strike plate in the world that self-adjusts to misaligned deadbolts. Plus, it helps resist kick-in home invasions. I had two put on my house and they work great. And they're affordable. Only $29.95 online. Here is a link that might be useful: Sure-Strike strike plate...See Morewoodbutcher_ca
