Just got home from the dentist to find my daughter not home. Seems the other girl was supposed to come on the bus with another kid due to an emergency and the driver wouldn't let the kid on. My daughter stayed for the late bus because she was afraid to ride without the other girl. My plan was to go to the bus stop and try to talk to the driver. I called the neighbor & found the above out. The neighbor said she went to the bus garage today and the driver refused to speak to her. I'm limited to what I can do, due to not being able to drive far after surgery. I was hoping to go to school on Monday and get the ball rolling. I will follow up with another fax to the bus garage tonight, demanding a bus change for Monday's pm pickup. I checked my emails, so far no reply from the principal, so he'll get another email today too. Why does everything happen when you have appointments?

Hello SmokeMaster, I understand it a bit :o) In fact I wrote a post today on my blog dealing precisely with a LED array I built myself from similar high power LEDs : http://allhydroponics.blogspot.com/2010/06/building-your-own-high-power-led-grow.html. Since the current rating of an LM317 (which is your voltage regulating transistor) is around 2A you will need to use a separate voltage regulator for every 1-1.5A you will be needing. Taking the voltage drop of your LEDs in mind you might want to hook them up so that their voltage drop adds a little bit higher than 13.6V. Like this : String 1 (connect in series) = one 3 blue 3W string + one 2 red 3W string = 14 V drop Use the lower voltage setting so that you run your LEDs at a lower and safer level. You can later increase the current through the LEDs by reducing the number of LEDs per array. You should then build the number of voltage regulators you need (one for each array) using your LM317. The datasheet for this transistor shows you how to build a classical voltage regulator. The link I posted on my blog article also shows you how to do this. You should then connect the voltage regulators in parallel from your power suppy so that each one gets its required current. At 13.5-14V you should expect each array to consume about 1A which is enough for the LM317 to handle. However you should install small transistor dissipators on them so that they do not overheat. I hope this helps you build your LED lamp. It is always a great project to do ! Make sure you check my blog article for more info and pictures of my array :o) Here is a link that might be useful: Everything Hydroponics

I realize that this has been resolved but thought I'd comment for some that may read it at a later date. I have driven school bus. Bus drivers have a really tough job, believe me. I've worked with teachers that have driven after retirement and they said they couldn't believe what a difficult job it is. That being said, It is not uncommon for a child to fall asleep on a bus, and sometimes they forget to get off. It happens. We were required to check our bus before leaving it between routes, and at the end of the day for sleepers. It was an immediate termination for any driver that left the bus with a child on board. No excuses, or questions asked you were gone, as it should be. It was also suggested that we take a couple minutes between schools to check for belonging or children left on the bus. Your sons situation is why. I'm glad you got your call and it was worked out to your satisfaction.

It probably would help though I am unfamiliar with the units you mention. One thing that sometimes works is to leave one Xenon bulb in the string. This sometimes ends the flickering.
