Oh the pool idea is a hoot!!! I would like to save it for later when our time comes, My Dh and I have discussed it and we decided that which ever of us goes first will be dusted and tucked under the others arm so we can be together....LOL This could be temporarily used in the garden maybe for storage of shovels, hoes, rakes and such stand it on end ya know (, the plots are paid for....Now all we need is a somewhere to store the other one until.....Oh, I have plenty of vases (Currently Totems) to use for my dust...LOL I particularly like the Cobalt need to be sure and Let him know! Hmmmmm LOL

I have wall mounted, swing arm lamps beside the bed so that frees up table space. On my nightstand is the phone, tissues, alarm clock & a water bottle. On his an alarm clock & one decorative doo-dad. My books are on the lower shelf of my nightstand and his reading material is in the top drawer of the bachelor chest he uses as a nightstand. Between my walk in closet and master bath I have a built in vanity area. The cabinets hide the laundry baskets and the 3 drawers hold make-up & the miscellaneous stuff that would probably accumulate on the dresser if I didn't have the drawers. I keep hair care items in baskets. I filled a pretty frame with cork and hang my necklaces from decorative push pins. Any rings or pins are in a small box on the counter top. I don't wear perfume so that isn't an issue. On my dresser I have a capiz shell tray to catch the occasional loose button, safety pin etc. I don't have any tabletop framed pictures. It's mostly because I'm too lazy to find a picture and a frame but it sounds like a more deliberate choice if I say it's not good fung shui. Something about your ancestors or relatives shouldn't have to view such an intimate space. Whatever. It's really just less fuss, less muss, less to dust. If you don't have vanity space or drawers in a bathroom those hanging jewelry organizers look like a great idea. I guess you need to really analyze what's on the bureau top. Does it really need to be in the bedroom (ie. receipts, magazines) or is there a better place elsehwere in the house? Maybe just some decorative containers to control the stuff will give a more peaceful & tidy feeling.

Whew! I'm tired just reading. DH and I got married in our late 30's and had to combine stuff. My son and I were moving into "his" condo and it just didn't occur to him to do any more than push some clothing down the rod. It was more like he gave us the space of an overnight guest. It took us several years to really make the transition. Of course, my biggest interest was in getting rid of his bachelor funiture and he fought me all the way. I just got rid of the last piece this summer. Much easier to decide which coffee pot was the newest and best to keep. But deciding if my fabric got space vs his books? Oh, man, that caused a few go-arounds. Luckily, he had an office building and we knew we would be househunting fairly soon, so quite a bit went into storage. I really shouldn't have kept any of it. Anj, do you print them out on cardstock or what? I've never tried to print much before. Might like to try printing some of the free graphics out too--I like the can wraps and some of the other things. Luvs
