If mixing oil/fuel together is not a "hassle" for you, like it seems to be for some, then yes, but a 2 cycle LB. There are many many models still around today. Call every local small engine shop in your area, and tell them what you're looking for. All kind of depends on what you're willing to pay. All of my Lawn Boys I've bought used ranging from $25 to $125, some worth much more. Check newspapers and yardsales. LB's seem to creep up out of no where like in barns, basements, sheds etc. I'd recommend any model from 1976' on through the mid 90's, aluminum deck, with the F-SERIES engine. Overall great performers that last long with basic maintenance and care. If you find specific models you're interested in, post them here for more advice from many who comb the posts here daily. I don't know how condos work. In a co-op, the board woudl refuse to approve the transfer of the shares (the sale until all moneys owed had been paid. That's the biggest leverage you can get. You'll really have him over a barrel, but he'll also be more likely to have the money, because he'll be selling. Step 1 would be a visit to a lawyer to be sure you have the form of the letter right. Step 2 would be a registered, etc., letter saying, 'please show us any proof you might have that you have paid your dues.' The other thing is, if the board "officially" (i.e., voted by the board, recorded in the minutes, etc.) "forgave" people from paying their dues, you may be out of luck. If he did not, and it is clear he exceeded his authority, you'll need to officially notify these folks that they owe this money, and ask them to contact the board to set up a payment schedule. Your husband is going to want to be sure he's as transparent as possible, so he can't be accused of a vendetta, etc. He'll want as many other board members as possible to be part of the process (he may legally need them to be). And since those people whose dues were "forgiven" are still voting members, he'll want to walk a fine line between getting the money and ticking them off--the last thing you want is to be voted out again, now that you've got a chance to keep it honest. Also, if the past president was the one responsible for the dryers, you might be able to hold up his closing for that. Also, you could bring civil charges later, for malfeasance, etc. But the lien is the fastest way to end it quick.

I had to laugh about the lawn mowing thing. I am the eldest of 3 girls. I had never, ever even dreamed of mowing the lawn or shoveling snow. The latter remains unexperienced. Mow!? Shovel!? "I don't think so," she replied disdainfully. However, never say never. When we moved out here, DH was still working 7 days a week, sometimes 16 hours a day. Waiting for him to mow was just plain (crazy) rude. We didn't have the $$ to pay someone for 3 hours' worth of mowing, so..... He once said that he had to call my mom with the weirdest thing he'd ever heard me say: "I'm going to mow the lawn, then I'm going to Wal-Mart." O. M. G. But my lawn's mowed, I have my seasonal bummy poision ivy, and it looks purty. My lawn, not my bummy. (You forget that ladies also don't spit, pick their noses [or bottoms] or teeth, have gas, burp, use the word "cheap" [unless in relation to another's look or behavior], swear, wear curlers in public, and many other elements of deportment. I guess admitting to mowing the lawn is something my mom has gotten over. Or, being a lady, is just chosing to ignore it. Out of sight...)
