hope all is well with you. I sent both of you emails, and would like to know if you received them, as I have not receive a reply. Should I resend?

I will check in. I am running a plant hospital here. I start them great put them in the ground and they want to die. I am working on it and making progress. It's a combination of pests, nematodes, soil, ph jump, well water quality, temperature, humidity and heat. Then there are moles, gophers, soil dieases,salt in the air etc. I have learned a lot. I sometimes envy the z7s and less. There are not all the perils as I have here. Cold and good soil cures a lot. When I was a kid living in Virginia I grew tomatoes as high as the 2 story house. I have never been able to duplicate that in the south. I have some in containers 15 gallon plus. I need to change the soil due to drainage. I am custom mixing fast drainng soil. Kind of hard to change soil while a plant is activly growing. I had never had to deal with mites but had an infestation so severe it threatned all of my brugs. I now quarintine all new plants coming in. I have bought several from Lowes and elsewhere that had a eggs laid and hatched here while in quarantine. Now they remain for a couple of weeks. There is some good news. My NB Jasmine just finished a flush. I had 7 brug plants with a small flush. I have another that is working on one. My plants are perking up. They had to fight for their life. Most had to be stripped of all of their leaves. New growth is filling in. I try something new every week and observe the test plants. I am trying to keep it at 100 brugs. I have only lost 2 and those were doomed. (creamsicle-sp?) I belive it is an Amber Rose that is blooming and I will take some pics. I have done thousands of pages of research. I will let you all know the results. What works and what does not. I have tried organic, natural and chemical solutions. Mulches, perlite, fired clay products, micronutrients, and some unconventional stuff. I am gaining ground. I almost threw in the towel and opened the gate and let the sheep in. LOL I have never liked defeat and it has been a battle but I knew it would be one. Just not on this scale. Enough on problems I will take some pretty pictures. That is why we grow them any way. It all seems good when I walk outside and can smell the plants perfume. Jim

A healthy Brug will after the 1st week have developed small white nodes on the area below the water. A brug that is having problems will not developed the nodes. After the 1st week if the cutting feels pliable is my be going bad. A good idea is to pick them up everyday and look at them you will soon be able to tell the good ones from the bad. Bad Brung- bad pic but you get the idea good Brung Notice the brug to the left without nodes- these are problem cuttings. If you have enough you might want to discard them or isolate them into a small container with rooting hormone. Small and flexiable ones should be isolated also as these will proably contaminate the bucket. If you do not have time to pick each one up then smell the bucket it it has an ordor there is a problem and it must be cleaned. Secondary growth is a good idication that all is well. Two buckets that had problems but as an experiment were continued with marginal brugs cuttings. Once these were removed the problem ceased. Rooting in a bucket is fun and you should try other items. It works very well. I have done a rose, jasmine, honeysuckle ( in the last 4 weeks) and will try some passion flower just for kicks. I bet you see other items in there. It does not seen to effect the brugs at all. Here is the last of my cuttings from 1 month ago these were the slow ones ready to go fishing-Floundering. The other are 18 inches tall. Now for the ones that do not want to put out roots but have nodes it is best to plant them. (I guess) It worked for me. I had one extremly large cutting(thick) it just would not make roots so I decided to do the lay it flat and cover all but 1/3 of the top. Well 2 10" cuttings made 9 plants. It seems to work well for very thick woody cuttings. Most of these are going elsewhere so maybe they will update the renegade bucket saga. PS- I did these with well water direct, the 1st ones were done with Reverse Osmosis water what I drink from the well. I guess water is like plasma the better the water the better the results. Municipal water should be good but let it sit for a day so the chlorine comes out. That is the update hope everyone had a happy holiday. Jim is an incredibly generous trader. We just had a trade and I swear he sent me an entire garbage bag filled with passion vines as well as some other potted plants in the box. A nice guy to talk to as well. I'd trade with him again anytime. Karyn

Sorry sometimes I get lost. I was doing computer forensics. Lighting strikes on computer systems. I was meaning to say Mike, I am bad. Sure you get to join, thinking of a rally in in Cozumel Mexico. I have a friend who let his boat down there. Must be nice. I need some 80 degree stable weather. LOL just wind here snapped a 6 footer off at the ground whaaaa full of flowers and buds. Time to go south for a while.

How true, I just sometime forget the inevitable. LOL

MY CG is in a 5 gallon bucket of water. Sure is windy this year. Had a front pass today and it blew over tables, ladders and plant supporting straps snapped. I am getting used to it. We go from winter to summer in a blink of an eye. I am trying to enjoy spring.
