Hi Tina, I just got back from overseas and see your post. If I recall correctly you got two different babies: -Limelight from seeds and -open polination cross between Blue Bird and Tokyo Delight. If my memory is still OK, then Limelight could be planted in ground, but BB/TD cross should be overwintered in garage for one more winter and planted out in a spring after the danger of the frost passes. The reason for that is that flower buds had been already formed and you want to see it flowering FOR SURE, not MAYBE. As you could imagine I'm anxious to see how this cross works, therefore take my extra-precautios suggestion with a grain of salt :-) BTW, Marty also sent me the picture of her 'cross-baby' and it show gorgeous golden-red fall coloration of the foliage which neither of the parents nor their babies ever displayed in my garden, though mine never got a direct sun, while her does.

Somewhere in my files I have a page saved from an old McCalls Needlecraft mag. That show a lot of different towel bibs. I'll have to dig it out. I wish your site had pictures.

Here's a couple ideas for you... The link I'm sending you has your palm trees of many styles for centerpieces. You will love this website-it's full of ideas, etc. On the home page, click on 'theme decor'on the sidebar-when that comes up-click on Tropical/Luau. Don't know how many tables you have to decorate-but you know the bamboo roller blinds? You could get them in narrower sizes & cut them to fit as table runners-probably would get 2 per shade. Another centerpiece idea might be to get the sheets of green styrofoam & cut into 12' squares-1 per table..as the base. Then cut 1/8 or 1/4' wooden dowels as the 'posts' for a tiki hut that would secure into the 4 corners of the styrofoam. You could cover the foam w/silk palm leaves (as flooring) and then use more of the bamboo shade cut & glued on the top of the dowels as the roof of the tiki hut. Then place your sand/shells on the leaves & maybe 1 larger baby. I would surround the styrofoam's edges (either by poking them in or hot glue)..with tiny orchids. I just had a baby shower for my daughter. We passed around ribbon and each guest cut one as long as they thought they needed to go around my daughter's tummy. Was fun to actually measure them and we saved the pieces of ribbon that they cut. Each person signed their piece of ribbon too and we saved them for her babybook! I made some premade scrapbooking pages that would include pieces of advice from each person attending. When I sent out the invites, I included the small cards for them to think of something to write to the baby or my daughter...advice for them! Something that my daughter and her daughter can look over whenever they want. A great way to include the guests/friends into her baby scrapbook! I bought some "babies" made out of blankets and sleepers on Ebay and they were adorable. The theme was Sugar and Spice, everything nice.....and it was worked into the menu.....lots of sweet(small cakes, molded mints, etc) and even some spicey appetizers! And almost everything was PINK! Just was fun! And of course...........LOTS of pictures! Just a wonderful memory made.......and expressions of support for my daughter! I hope you had fun.......and that YOU had time to enjoy it all!
