Lazy Susan vs. Super Susan??
Comments (25)One thing not mentioned here: The super susan's require you to have one of those annoying, hinged, bifold doors. You get significantly more storage in a super susan but the trade-off is that awkward door. I just had a regular lazy susan installed because the doors are attached directly to the pie cut-out and spin with the unit. Decide what is most important to you, storage or a rotating door. In my case I knew that hinged door would make me psychologically unstable. The pictures from my cabinet company showed the regular lazy susan with the same awkward hinged door as the super susan, but I asked and it turned out that the revolving door was a no-cost option. I know this thread is old, but the door difference wasn't mentioned here and people do look for info in these old threads....See Morelazy susan/ trap door for groceries
Comments (7)Thank you all, I will research further now with your suggestions. We are buying a fixer which has a long driveway to a detached garage. We want to seal off the mud room door which opens to the driveway, it takes up driveway room (the stoop & stairs) also because there are 2 doors to outside in this mudroom. It would be a good time to seal one off as we are remodeling that mudroom & incorporating a laundry area. The other mudroom door goes towards the back patio, which is only a few steps to the gate and then to the driveway. That back patio door is actually almost as close to the driveway & garage, just a different path and a few more steps, so not a real biggie to lose one of the doors. I was just thinking of a quick way to transfer groceries. I remember another GW poster years back who used something similar to pull up to in her vehicle for unloading her groceries without there being a full size door there and they actually loaded into a walk in pantry, which made putting them away easy, as well as less carrying. I suppose I could just leave the 2 doors as is I hadnt thought about fire codes (although my DH is a GC so he could handle it if it was allowed). It would be nice to have some more organized storage space and look better in there if one door was sealed up. Thank you all again for the responses....See MoreSuper (or lazy) Susan size question
Comments (1)I may be missing something, but if you're putting a circular "shelf" into a rectangular cabinet, i.e. your 33"x36" - the maximum diameter of your circle will be constrained by the smaller of the two dimensions. This will result in lost or unusable space in the cabinet. Better to keep it square for a lazy/super susan. Good old fashioned graph paper and a compass may help visualize and finalize your dimensions. There's nearly a full square foot of space differential (per shelf) between using a 28" diameter shelf vs a 32" diameter shelf. With two levels in the cabinet, that's a lot of storage space....See More'Round' lazy susan
Comments (3)Yes, my cabinets are being installed now. Both the base and upper cabinets have round lazy susans. The cabinets are Quality, made in PA. Unfortunately, the corner cabinet shown on their website is the l-shaped one. You might be able to see a corner cabinet in a dealer's showroom....See Moremarcolo
