sounds like it may be this one. If it is, a Montana can get pretty big and never needs pruning way back like others. They can grow to be 30 - 40 feet long. I had one in the back of my garden that grew 20 feet along the fence then started up the tree and grew to the top, another 15 - 20 feet. Unfortunately, they tend to be short lived. I've had 2 and each of them lasted about 10 years. Other types have lasted much longer and are still growing strong.

WOIA does get special attention as I just love this daylily so much.It gets watered early each day when I go out after my paper.I take my 2 gal water can full of water with me and give it a good drink, then it gets water again in the evening in this heat.It geta a water soluable fertilizer once a week, too.Its in a big pot, and I will have to put it in a bigger pot or divide it maybe, this fall. Maybe shes just so grateful that I took her in and feed her regular meals.She was a stray that came here about 7 years ago, just starving,and nothing but skin and bones,and she was so wild,I could not get close to her at all. I went in and only had some sliced ham in the fridge that a cat would eat, so I took a few slices and chopped it up small pcs,and took it out to her,and she would not come eat it until I got at least 15 ft from her, then she came and ate it.That went on for months and months,and each time I few her,I stayed a little closer to her, until finally she would let me closer. A few months after that,I was able to pet her.Now, she dont want me out of her sight.Shes just a loveable little doll. Jean

I discourage the wrens. I take any sticks they put into a box away as quickly as possible. From the information I've read on the Sialis website, if you let wrens nest, you will soon be overrun with wrens. The wrens will poke holes in the Bluebird's eggs, or toss out their chicks. So if you're trying to get Blues, I would certainly discourage the wrens.

Alisande - Those look absolutely delicious! As a kindred spirit when it comes to using leftovers, I use all kinds of things for vegetarian cakes/patties and enjoy them for lunches and vegetarian Friday. Hubby says I bat "clean-up" at our house, when it comes to leftovers. Do you happen to make anything interesting from pulp left from making almond milk (or other nuts) and coconut milk? I keep adding to that recipe file. I hate to waste food!!! Which is one of the reasons I can stick to a $125/MONTH food budget for two adults. In my file there is a collection of recipes that use bread crumbs (including gluten-free homemade breads) for cookies, brownies, and pancakes/waffles. There is also a nice collection of recipes that use one ripe banana. I was all giddy when I learned recently how to eat the avocado seed and banana peels!!! Then there is a whole list of wonderful things to use rice water left from boiling rice - skin toner, hair treatment, acne treatment, vomiting/diarrhea, starching white clothes... I teach food and nutrition classes at the local Food Bank and I spend a lot of time helping people find simple recipes and uses for leftovers, which will really help save them money on their grocery bill. As the old saying goes - the most expensive food we buy is the food we waste. I added pulp to a lot of muffins, quick breads, meatloaf/meatballs, when I was juicing. Unfortunately, I no longer do juicing because of the high amount of carbohydrates, which gives me a digestive problem due to "dumping syndrome" (yes, that's a real condition - not a pun about wasting food ;-).
