rotating in psp

I was trying a tut and you put a star shape on layer one, duplicate it and then rotate the second layer free to the right 45Â°. I tried it in both psp 7 & 8 and that sucker would only move a smidgen, certainly not 45Â°. I had to use the deformation thingy to do it. Anyone have any ideas why it would turn right?

Judy,
It may have rotated but matched up with it to where you couldn't see that it moved?
Try and rotate it to the right at 35 or 40 to see?
That's just a guess on my part as to what may have happened.
Do you have a copy of that star to post here for me to see and try to rotate?

Urlee- it doesn't matter what I set the number to this is all it moves.

YES! Elaine, That is exactly what happened to me with PSPX when I first got it so I uninstalled it and went back to PSP8. Then I reinstalled it and it worked fine BUT------------------- Now I found out something is wrong with the ROTATE feature! When I have all layers hidden, and one highlighted to be rotated, they ALL ROTATE! I am in the process of e-mailing Corel about it. ~Urlee!

Amy, That is when I discovered it wasn't saved. I had rotated it to print out and thinking that was what it was asking, I just closed it thinking it was saved and would just get unrotated by me not saving changes. Bummer! But-----I did find I had the poem still on my Text window so that saved me from having to retype and locate font style and size. I also had the sense to have saved the other components for me to place on my remade background image. Whew! BUT----------I had to retype the title cause it was in a larger size only to find (after all printed out, ink $$) I mispelled Doggy! I had Doogy! SH--! My friend's, daughter's 17 year old pet went to doggie heaven and I am making a pretty sympathy graphic to give to her.

You are just too clever Urlee! Great job, yes I would have appreciated it more if it were framed. My only question is how do you keep the bottom closed? Elaine what a cutie, that is why my husband keeps saying, "after these two go, no more dogs". I say I'll compromise, just one. You could always do what my daughter & her hubby did, buy a Winnebago, they go to the Keys for the month of Feb. every year. This year it will just be their 2 yr. old son and 130lb. Bull Mastiff, last year it was 140 lb. Mastiff, Bull Mastiff, and one yr. old baby. Of course they are still young, and can handle that, I would be climbing out the window around Virginia. Mine rotates it whatever I choose.

I had to use the deformation thing to do it. I rebooted thinking my memory might be low but nothing seemed to help. Weird.

Judy, on the Free Rotate window be sure to....

Disabled: "All layers" .
Enable: "Rotate single layer around canvas center"

Joy- I had already tried that and it turns out the same as in the picture I posted above. I did try it with one of the star shapes that had five points and it rotated that one but it is off center. Something is weird!

Judy I think it's a PSP thing. I had to rotate it twice to get it to look right.
