I bought a bulb from Wally World and it showed a coral bloom. Well it bloomed this year, half the size of the rest of my Amaryllis the bulb is smaller as well as the leaves and the bloom. It is a very pretty flower, Orange with light lines in the vaines and a yellow star center with only 2 blooms. I do love and as any new color is just fine with me. The next time I plant the seeds I need to make sure they do not become snail food. Lost all my seedlings last year. So not new plants this year form over 40 seedlings.

i presume that a renewal would add on to whatever is left on your previous subscription ... if any .... just insert a note with your $$$ and ask if you missed any journals... and if so .. you would be glad to pay for it... or ask them to back date your subscription and send the missing journal ... this isn't some conglomerate who cant answer a simple question .. just some person sitting in the kitchen volunteering their time to the society ... and most likely extremely willing to enable your addiction ... good luck ken

I joined back in March or Feb, and have I think two issues of the AHS Journal. I'll be rereading some of the first issue, because when it arrived, I was still clueless. Now it is making more sense to me. I could still benefit from the beginners' guide that Irawon mentioned for sale on the website and in the issue. My very favorite article from this current issue is the Goodwin Garden in Britain. He container gardens, with 350 hosta. It is an official display garden, impeccable at all times of the year. Which has stirred my curiosity to see shots of his winter storage arrangements for the dormant containers. A significant part of the success in his garden lies in its attractiveness. And healthy plants too. The time has come to start a thread about wintering over container hosta. Techniques that work in differing circumstances and climates.

I had the same question and found somewhere (can't find it now) that GardenWeb is free since it is run by iVillage now. Hope this helps. Cherri
