I'm not sure if all your drawers are together, but I have two pots and pans drawers in my island, and then a third drawer of similar size that I put my baking pans in (as you described. I use a lot of the DeMarle molds/silpats, etc. and this works well for them also. So, my vote would be three.

krissd thanks for your response. I won't be using these drawers actually for pots and pans. I keep those on my corner lazy susan. The question is more this. In one 27" wide cabinet, would I be better off with two deeper drawers, or three drawers all of equal size?

JudyDel...it depends on what you store in them and how you want to store those items. Are you OK with stacking your casserole dishes? Or, would you prefer to have them "1 layer" deep? If the former, then I think 2 drawers would work; if the latter, then definitely three... Personally, I think I would prefer three drawers.

In my kitchen I have a 27" wide, 3-drawer cabinet where I store my mixing bowls, round casserole dishes, & 9x13 lasagna/casserole pans. They're in the middle drawer. Here's a pic:

The top drawer is shallow (I store serving utensils & oven tools like the meat temperature probes & basting syringes). The next two drawers are the same size.

The top drawer of this bank is more shallow and it's where I keep my kitchen wrap, aluminum foil, parchment paper etc. The bottom one is the same dimensions as what I've put above and has stuff for baking (bowls, rolling pins, Silpat, etc etc)

For me, two would be a little too deep to be practical.

Thanks for the photos and explanations. I've never had drawers like this before. I'll go with three drawers. I plan on asking the KD to explain to me the inside depth dimensions for two different combinations (three drawers with top drawer more shallow; three drawers all the same depth).
