I emailed Corel with my problem and lo and behold, they answered this morning. I used their unistall download, which they say works better than add/remove programs. Then after reinstalling they sent me a link for updates/patches. Seems to be working fine now and so far the floppy drive is not being accessed when in PSP. OF course I have not used it yet to get photos from my old Sony, which uses a floppy disk. If I continue to have problems I will just try replacing the drive, it might just be bad. Consistent snooping got lucky. Bumped across a forum which gave links to all 5 of the patches for PSP X3. These patches were no longer available on the Corel site. The links were direct downloads to Patches 1-5, and they worked. They are all downloaded, but not yet installed. I will do so and report the results. They are supposed to make PSP X3 work on WIN 8.1 A link to the forum which has the 5 links is below, in case anyone else has a possible need for them. Hi Bev, I have Win7 on my 64 bit laptop and have PSP XII and PSP7 and Animation Shop installed and they work fine. Even though it says Win 7 is not compatible with Animation Shop it works just fine. Hope this helps. Carol

AAARRRGGGHHHH, after I just spent $59 to order the program. I have it, my DVD/CD drive won't work and I can't use it. I will have to call the computer guy today. I sure didn't need to spend mega bucks this month. I go to Honduras at the end of the month and still have to purchase a few things for my trip. Oh, well..if it were the 'fridge gone bad that would be worse. Since it is something I spend half my day on I shouldn't complain. I guess I have worn it out. What erks me, I gave my granddaughter my old Dell, it was 5 years old and never had a problem. Wanted a later model with more "stuff" on it. So I have a new (17 months) computer with problems..go figure!!! My old one is still going strong. Charlene
