I am soooo happy to have found all of you! I have been using Lin Wellford's books as reference to paint rocks for years now. When I tell people that I paint stones I sometimes get a raised eyebrow. : ) They are fun, profitable to do and look great in the garden. I have the new book but have not had a chance to paint anything from it. Most of the ones I have done are animals. Will post photos when I figure out how! Love, love this forum!

luvs - Here's a couple pics from our 1st FM this year...my old quilts wouldn't even staying hanging down on the tables...and my cards were blowing away out of the boxes so I put them away! Yikes! Here's DH wondering what the heck we're doing...but we learned & it improved! Never can count on Ia. weather. Last summer we did a trail couple times & decided we'd give it a go...and I retired also. So we had fun. But you can see some of the fun stuff we make tog. & my DH does alot on his own, too. We enjoy. Log bdhs, Mission bdhs, folkart, I made the rd ones from the porch columns I salvaged at a farm (they were newer & split in 2 lengthwise)...so I got to make lots of those...sure you've seen...and also shutter bdhses, my DH helped me (or maybe vice-versa, barn doors I have fun with...anyway, a great time! Our's is $60 for season or $75 if you get a "shady spot." Of course, we haven't worked our way there yet. Pics not great...but you get the jest of it...Jeanne S. Not so good. One tube? Maybe 20W? Not enough light to do much good. The foliage right at the tip, three inches from the tube, will probably do well, the rest of it, a foot or more from the tube will be too dark. Light that is dimmer than a certain level kills plants. You might not be that dim, but full sun trees aren't going to be happy. Stick to 12-14 hours light each day, 10-12 hours if you get a really intense light source. Get maybe four or six tubes like that and arrange them vertically around the plants. The "arc" in your reflector might need to be more pronouned. Try to arrange it so that it produces an obvious bright strip on a surface a couple of feet away, so you can just light the plants and not the rest of the room. Or get a more intense light source with a really good reflector and mount it a foot or two above the plants. Maybe a couple of 42W CFLs.

Kathleen check your camera software for a basic editing tool that will resize your photos down to something like 800 x 600 pixels. I'll get back to you if you can't find it but you can also try using the free program Irfanview to reduce pics. I'll post instructions for using Irfanview if you need it.
