I pre-emptively prune most plants mainly to allow better air flow and more light to reach the lower leaves. Any congestion just increases the chances of all kinds of problems. I also have two fans on high setting on a timer. One is fixed high up on one side of the room pointing down towards the plants. The second one is on the floor blowing across the floor. Comes on three times for 2 hr each: at 1am, 9am and 4pm. I do not run it all the time so that it does not become too dry. Like mike I prefer to keep it on the cool side. It is a bit easier for me since the room is really a covered unheated porch. So the temperature does drop in the night. When it drops below 45 a supplemental heater kicks in and shuts off above 50F. Most days the high temperature does not go over 70 until about March when the days start becoming long enough that Sun heats up the room. Humidity stays around 50% except when I water and mist. Goes up to 80% for about a few hrs and then drops down eventually. Plants in the room do much better (pest wise) than ones on my window sill in bedrooms.

Well, you can pot anything together but you'll soon learn that some will overwhelm the others and that while one may thrive, another will not. Go ahead and leave everything as is for now ... They will tell you when it's time to move it to its own pot. When potting multiple plants, you'd have to ensure everything in that pot has the same water, light, and fertilizer needs. Otherwise, some will thrive and others will not. Your safest bet is to stay in the same family. You'd also have to identify the varieties that don't grow too large or have extensive root systems. Succulents with large root systems should remain separate. They will overwhelm or choke off the roots of smaller succulents. A good group of succulents to consider are 'Chicks and Hens' ... These are smaller and wont overcrowd each other. Plus they come in a very nice variety.

It doesn't really matter whether you start from the bottom ribbing or from the sleeve ribbing, but you will find yourself seaming the sleeve along the same direction as the sleeve which is easier than when you seam down the body. It is important to keep from pulling your joining stitches too tight, and especially important to match up the prominent lines on the body when seaming.
