What else can you tell me? I realize I'm asking pretty general questions. I live in Massachusetts in Zone 6. I have no idea when blueberries form or are ready to pick, if I should prune them, etc. Blueberries flower in the spring and ripen fruit late summer-fall. Blueberries generally aren't pruned for a few years. After that pruning to remove the oldest canes is done to keep up productivity. Apples are pruned to make a good shape for fruit bearing. Generally you want branches angled slightly upward from horizontal. Remove any crossing branches. Your tree should arrive in need of no pruning and at least for the first year I wouldn't touch it. It needs to put out new growth and leaves for energy. Wait until the following year or more before pruning anything. In that time you can review the info on various pruning techniques and get comfortable with the idea. Spraying really depends on how things go. Many who grow fruit trees would spray preventatively as they know fruit trees are magnets for pests and disease. It's up to you if you choose to wait until you see a problem. There are organic sprays you can use. Up to you. For your in ground plants feeding them organicly is reasonable, but for your container grown plants a water soluble fertilizer is preferred. Water soluble pretty much means synthetic. You want a fast draining potting mix (see the container forum for details) and things like compost just clog up drainage in a container. In the soil they are wonderful, but not in containers. Products like fish emulsions also don't have much 'oomph' in containers. They require processing by soil organisms before nutrients are available to the plant and more often than not the container plants are watered frequently enough that it is all washed out before this happens. It is your choice, of course, but many of us, myself included, who are organic growers in the soil have found it very difficult to get satisfactory results with organics in containers. You will find more info on the container growing forum for the plants you intend to grow that way. The apple tree and blueberries have chill requirements which means they need a period of cold to do well the following year. You can bury pots in the ground or bring them indoors into an unheated shelter such as garage or shed for the winter and then gently reacclimate them to the outside once you see signs of new growth in the spring.

Hi Jennygreenteeth, I think this is just a follow on from a lot of people leaving these forums for this very reason. A few months ago the Spanish part was pages (and I mean pages) of adverts and they weren't for shoes - mostly porn and hard porn!! I contacted (and some others) the forum administration and it took ages for the posts to be eliminated. I even contacted iVillage to see if they knew the page they sponsored was containing this sort of post. Most of the Spanish frequenters have moved to a very active Spanish forum (sometimes 4000 on line at once!) I check into Gardenweb from time to time but as you say its moribund.
