I get cheap ceramic bowls from the dollar store (50 cents). Use a glass bit lubricated with oil to drill 4 holes in it evenly placed around the rim. Loop any cord from suede lacing to macrame cord thru a hole and back down thru the opposing hole leaving the length according to hanging height you need. Same with the remaining 2 holes. I also use a metal or wooden ring that a bowl fits well down into. I get them at craft stores. You can get elaborate and wrap the entire ring in your cord or you can just tie the cord at four points and secure with hot glue, then bring the cords up to hang. I also use terra cotta orchid pots with the side slits. Down side of this is you have no reservoir to hold excess drainage water unless you have a little saucer inside. If it's okay with you to take the pot down and water over a bucket or sink it works great. Run any lacing cord thru the side slits one side to the other as I said above. With any of these you can put a round jump ring at the top to hold the 2 cords together. Also you can vary your hanging lengths, customized to what you need. I have a long black pipe that runs the length of a bank of windows and I can hang many plants from it with a combination of these 3 hangers. I hang at varying lengths which extends my space quite a bit. I make long S-hooks from heavy copper wire which allows me to vary the lengths even more. It looks great too. I found similar color bowls so it doesn't look gaudy or detract from the plants themselves. I want the plant to be the main thing I see, not the hanger. But I also want it all to look good.

Whenever I need any, I just go to Kroger or any large grocery that has a floral dept. I always ask if I can buy some, and they ask how many I need -- when I say just 5 or so, they always just give them to me :-). Mel

I'm pretty sure willows need water. The only two I'm familair with are Salix babylonica weeping willow Salix caprea pussy willow both grow at water edge. maybe check here: Here is a link that might be useful: right here

Wow! This is great information. I've been considering a sun tube for an interior hallway in our house that is really dark. I have a question, though: Has anyone had the tube come down two stories, and how disruptive is it to the walls and ceilings it has to come through? My hallway is on the first floor, and the tube would have to come down from at least the second floor, maybe even the third or attic floor. That dark hallway is under the home's main stairway, so the closest ceiling is above that. If they have to install this thing through walls, can they fit in there without having to create a box or a channel for it? In other words, will it take up more room than there is within the walls? Thanks so much for all this valuable information and the very telling photographs.
