Picture editing

Can anyone recommend a picture editing program? I used to use on that came with my version of Microsoft (Maybe XP, maybe 2003) and it would display all your pictures at the right in thumbnail size and you could correct them without having to open them with the editing tools on the right.

If anyone know which program this is, please remind me.

Or please recommend something simple but effeicient for me, preferably with the same thumbnail thing.

This is stupid but... How do I resize the pictures in that program? I didn't see it anywhere.

I need something that lets you do a percentage as oppossed to dragging a corner down.

I have long been using and recommending picnik it is so easy to use and does great stuff. There is also a neat firefox add on for it too. I did this Christmas picture of my sweet Dane that we no longer have using picnik

I should also mention that the gray we used had a blue undertone ("Dolphin" by Behr). The green we tried was "Garden shed" by Martha Stewart.

My3dogs -- before we were married, I always knew it was "kids or pets" with him, and I wanted kids. Then almost 3 years ago, I pined for a cat... and he loves cats... so we adopted a cat within a day of me first bringing it up! Almost two years ago, I found another cat and he said to just bring her home -- he didn't need to meet her. I looooooove having them! We also have two very, very loud boys, ages 7 and 10, both with special needs (one autism and ADHD, the other ADHD). My husband has an extremely low threshold for noise and chaos, which is why he wasn't always sure he wanted kids. He has a demanding job and gets home after 7 each night. Weekends are hardly enough time for him to do anything relaxing. He doesn't want MORE noise, more mess, more whining, and less time for doing whatever because we'd be slaves to a dog's schedule. He grew up with dogs, BTW, who apparently were very badly behaved! Even so, his mom even thinks we should get a dog! I really thought he'd come around, because when I first brought it up a couple of weeks ago, he said NO... unless my heart is set on it. Then he figured out I was at the shelter one day and said no, no way, no how. He didn't remember giving me hope! I never, ever wanted a dog before a couple of months ago, and now I want one desperately. After meeting that pup above (she's 6 months), I want one more than ever. There was a 5yo dog I met a few weeks ago that I totally fell for, too. I don't really want a puppy; I want a housebroken dog, just to make things easier for all of us. But gosh, that sweetie made me say I'd get up with her day and night to let her out!
