Transfering to CD

My beloved Basset Hound, Rosie, passed away in June. I have several small videos taken on my digital camera of her and would like to put them on a CD so that I could save them or show the CD on a DVC player. I also would like to send this clip in email or post it on some sites. Is this possible and how do I do it? What kind of CD would I need?

My system is a Dell 2300 with 1.75 GHz, 256 RAM, Windows XP home system.

I've been using PhotoStory 3 to make videos,using pictures I've made with my digital camera. (I've linked to one of them below). I use regular DVD discs. The program is VERY easy to use and you can also add music!*S*

What a beautiful child and how proud you must be! How much did that big boy weight? He's a whopper!

Thank you for the link. I have already uploaded the video to my computer. Can I transfer it from the computer to a DVD?

Vinyl may be the only way to go. If you have a turn table, it's easy enough and cheap enough to hook up to your computer. The cables can be found at most any electronics store. Then it's just a matter of using your recording software. That's what I've been thinking of doing. I have ~150 albums that aren't being used. And I do prefer the analog sound over the digital sound. Even though the recording bitrate is good, I still can tell the difference between cd's and albums. Albums to me, at least, provide a fuller and richer sound than a cd does. Though albums degrade faster, with the appropiate software, I can record the albums to my computer and then use software to remove any pops and/or whistles that the album may have incurred.

I have 398 MHz 256 MB of Ram on this computer. I'm showing capacity 74.4 GB . Used space 12.3 GB and free space 62.0 GB. I have no idea what all this means except that my pie still has lots of pink and I DO know that means lots of empty space just don't know if this is enough for all these pictures. bpgreen: Do you think that would be enough space to download all these pictures and put in a folder ? Yes dcarch the floppy's are 1.44 mg. I know what you mean about what are floppy's? I asked the grandkids and great-grandkids for help and they had no idea what I was talking about. When I showed them my floppy's they Wanted to know how to put that in their laptop's. Guess I'm getting older by the day but I won't give up trying to learn. lol Thanks to both of you for the quick and easy to understand response and hope I can get this done. Where to get old reel tapes transferred into CD?

You can. Assuming you don't already have an open-reel player and a CD-burner, you could look in the phone book for people who transfer audio and video. No idea where you live (happy belated birthday, by the way), but if you're near a larger city, it will be easier to find someone. If not, you might try a nearby college or university or even (less likely) a radio station to see if they might know of someone.

Nonnie..it's a girl and she weighed 8lbs.5oz.! If you download the PhotoStory 3 program, you should be able to make and burn a video to a DVD that will play on your DVD player.

What a beautiful job you did! I have done them before and can appreciate all the work involved, my daughter and I worked on one for her anniversary starting with pictures of she and her husband when they were little, dating, proms, wedding and ending with the birth of their son. We played "You're still the one" by Orleans.(One of my favorites) and suprisingly also one of hers. The only problem I have with them is that they only play on certain DVD's.
