What's going on?

I know I haven't been in here in a while, but what's with the Oscar Myer commercial? Every time I click to go back, that stupid commercial comes on. Is anyone else having that problem.

My Catalpa looks about the same here near minneapolis. it was sold as a northern catalpa but turned out to be southern catalpa. Not sure why if finally succumbed this year because it wasn’t that cold. It made it through several polar vortices with just some minor tip dieback but the trunk did crack one year.

Over-watered and/or over-fertilized is a potentiality no one could argue against, given what's known, which really isn't a whole bunch at this point. How about an image of the entire planting, including the pot? The usual suspects would be: Over/under-watering, root congestion, a high EC/TDS level (too much salt in the grow medium/ soil solution), a badly skewed nutrient ratio in the grow medium due to the soil not being flushed regularly or effectively, natural senescence - depending on where the spoiled foliage is located on the plant. Sometimes a valid diagnosis can be reached by the process of elimination. Other times, you might find it easier to simply take a good overview of all cultural conditions you hold sway over and make your best attempt to dial them into the plant's sweet spot. Al

I'm thinking people are leaving. I thought over the winter things were slow but expected them to pick up come April. I'm not seeing much more activity even into May. The Rose forum is pretty busy most of the time, despite the site. I'm usually looking at Perennials or Vegetables. I wonder if there is a way to move GARDENWEB somewhere and start over?

No, I'm not dreaming..It's doing it again. every time I click on the back arrow, I get a video commercial. This time it's advertising South Beach Diet...What a pain in the neck.

If you're finding the obnoxious advertising annoying why not make it go away? It's easy to do. I don't spend a lot of time on these forums, but when I do I never see any ads of any kind ever -- even the green bar at the top of this screen is just an empty green bar. It's easy to shut them down.

For Windows XP users (I'm assuming thats most folks) there is a system file named hosts (no extension). It's location:

C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc\hosts

Open your hosts file with Notepad. Ignore what may already be there and cut and paste the following into the file:

127.0.0.1 localhost
127.0.0.1 amch.questionmarket.com
127.0.0.1 a820.g.akamai.net
127.0.0.1 iv.doubleclick.net
127.0.0.1 i.ivillage.com
127.0.0.1 m.2mdn.net
127.0.0.1 tste.ivillage.com

127.0.0.1 cmhtml.ivillage.overture.com

Save the file. Close and re-open your broswer and you'll never see another iVillage ad.
