I am reading some of these replies and I can't believe my eyes. The pipes are extending out of the concrete, ergo they must have been installed before the slab was poured, right? The plumbing code requires that all pipes above the floor must be properly supported by means of holes drilled through the studs, pipe hangers attached to the studs or installing proper blocking and bracing to the studs. Common sense should tell you that if the plumber installed the pipes in question before the slab was poured, it was also days or perhaps weeks before the framer installed the studs. Pray tell, how could the plumber install any pipe above grade and meet the code requirement for support if there is nothing to support it to? Perhaps we should use sky hooks or something. Taking this discussion to the next level. Any GC or Drywall installer knows good and well that they cannot begin the drywall until the plumbing, electrical, mechanical and in some jurisdictions fire inspection is complete and signed off. Anyone with half a brain could see a small room framed out with plumbing extending through the floor and figure out it is a bathroom or laundry room. No plumbing inspector would ever sign off on that without a proper stack-out completion. Now, if the original contract only called for a plumbing rough-in then that is what the plumbing gave you and that is what you were originally billed for. If you then come back and say you are now ready for the stack-out, then the plumber is well within his/her right to charge you labor for that phase. In fact, they should not only charge labor but they should charge extra for cutting into the sheet rock. The problem is not with the plumber, it is with whoever the dummy was that gave the ok for them to hang the drywall before the stack out was done. Taking that to the next step, no doubt the drywall installers were tripping over the pipes extending up through the floor. Why didn't they question the lack of a stack out? Hold my money back under these circumstances and I guarantee when we get finished in court I will have my money and a bunch more and you can be sure that the GC and drywall contractor will never repeat that mistake again.

It seems unlikely that both boilers would independently encounter the same error condition at the same time. I would check something that is common to both that could cause the issue. Have the tech check for voltage or gas pressure issues before swapping out any components.

However, I think this might also look strange because the cabinet that is next to it is only effectively 16 inches before the corner. I think it would possibly look weird to have the fridge panels and over the fridge cabinet be 30 inches in depth, and then have a 16 inch wide cabinet be 24 inches in depth, and then turn the corner. Do you think that would look weird? What I think would look aesthetically most pleasing is for them to do the 30 inch panels and build out the over the refrigerator cabinet. I think they should also move out the cabinet next to it to 30 inches, so these are flush. But this means that they'd need to replace the cabinet around the corner with a less wide one to accommodate that cabinet being moved out. This would also be the most labor for them. The head carpenter that I spoke to this morning said that he wasn't sure the owner of the contracting company would agree to pay for the additional cabinet, in addition to all the labor. (The owner is on vacation this week, but will be back on Monday). I don't know how much to push for this. Like other posters have said, the other options are to just remove the panels. As I think I said in my OP, I did not know that there were going to be panels. We had planned to not have panels, so I'm highly irritated by the fact that I paid for this, even though I didn't even know about it. I did tell the carpenter today that if we did just decide to remove the panels, I'd expect them to refund me for the panels, since I'm not willing to pay for something that I didn't agree to in the first place and that ends up not being used. But now that I'm looking at it, I don't know that this would look any better, again, because of the narrow cabinet next to it. (Just to be clear, the layout I saw was before ordering was obviously not to scale, as it didn't look bad to have the refrigerator sticking out beyond the cabinet. But I think IRL, this will look strange.) The other option, I guess, is to leave it as is. I'd probably ask for compensation if I chose this. The spec on my fridge do not specify whether the 31.25 inches includes the door/handle or just is the carcass. The fridge is being delivered tomorrow, so I guess I'll find out. We have been having nothing but troubles with bertazzoni appliances. We bought all bertazzoni appliances from vent hood, range, the newest model microwave Combi oven and 30 inch wall oven. The microwave just simply doesn't work and we have been waiting for the parts to arrive from "Italy" for over a month now. Yup, you heard me right. the parts have to come from Italy. For me, this is a poor planning of the new product introduction with support from Bertazzoni. In my opinion, when new products are introduced to public without any proper parts and services is a poor management execution. After numerous calls to service center, they finally put a request to replace the unit. We are now waiting for the new unit replacement. We are also having the front face heat issue with the Bertazzoni wall oven despite of the fact that we followed the instruction of (remedy to the design flaw IMHO) making the hole for the ventilation. It gets so hot that we can't touch it. I called Bertazzoni and they will be sending the technician out from Appliances masters to look at it. I hope there is something that can be done. Otherwise, this oven will not be usable for our kitchen. I would love to hear more about others about this issue if this spans across all Bertazzoni wall oven owners. Thanks
