Finally got around to making the French Onion White Bean Soup (see first post in this thread). I despise beans but this soup was delicious. I caramelized the onions and froze them some weeks ago. With that out of the way, the soup came together quite quickly. I used chicken broth instead of veggie broth. It’s what I had on hand. I was in the middle of doing other things and didn’t read carefully enough about the croutons. I ended up making a compound butter, spreading it on a slice of bread, and baking according to the time and temp in the recipe. Towards the end of the baking time, I added the cheese. When it was finished, I cut it into small squares. I halved the recipe since it was just for me for lunch. I’m looking forward to the leftovers!

Hi Jan, Thank you for your help. Yes, we could swap the toilet and shower locations. That would work well. The 21" deep vanity also makes sense. That would leave 27" of aisle clearance, which is tight but still acceptable. We could increase the bathroom depth from 80" to 83", but the tradeoff is that it would make the primary bedroom smaller. I think that change would reduce the bedroom from about 11' x 10'6" to about 10'9" x 10'6", so it really is a delicate balancing act. If my measurement is off by a couple of inches and the bathroom is actually 7'2" long rather than 7', I may be able to make a more typical (but very tight) 8' x 5' layout work by reducing the vanity to 24" wide. Your next pics seem to me to be American bladdernut. I came across an attractive mid-size tree somehow thriving in very deep shade in nearby Rocky Gap park (MD), and inspected it closely as it had low branches. It had rather rough, very dark, slightly shedding bark, and I realized it was a hop hornbeam. Closely related to Amer hornbeam, but was much more tree-like & was impressed w/it and thought it would be a handsome species to plant (but I no longer have any room!).

I love sage green, which is warm, soothing, and natural. I agree with Emily about painting large samples on your wall. She's absolutely right about paint colors looking different throughout the day - and at night, with your interior lighting. Many paint stores sell small cans of popular colors for that purpose, or it might be worth buying a couple of quart cans of 2 or 3 possibilities. Some folks suggest painting samples on poster board so they can be moved around the room, but I've never had good luck with the poster board sample looking anything like it looked on the wall.

Here's my second, practicing at animation. As you can see need lots more practice. I forgot to sharpen the hand. Still needs work, but having lots of fun and learning.

Thanks Urlee, once I start I have to keep on going or I forget how. Doesn't take much anymore, the old brain has to stay on one thing over and over so I don't forget it. Actually that is one of the problems I have. I see a tut that I just love, work like crazy till I get it right, then go on to something else and forget everything I learned. I'll just keep on practicing.
