Comments (3)We wanted the shaw rc3018 in black but it has been discontinued. They no longer make them. I'm not sure about their other sizes. We went with a black granite sink that is just gorgeous. Sorry no pictures to show. We just started the demo work. The sink is still in the box and weighs 250lbs! Comments (4)My parents have a 1 HP continuous feed Insinkerator with their Shaws. I am putting a Shaws in as well, but have purchased a 1 HP batch feed Waste King (batch vs. continous feed shouldn't make a difference as far as power and vibrations are concerned). I chose the Waste King, as it was the most highly recommended brand on this forum, as well as other review sites. When my parents installed the GD, I remember their plumber commenting that it was so powerful that you could stick body parts down it and it would grind them all awaw without anyone being the wiser. Even though the comment was a bit gruesome, it makes the point that it is pretty darn powerful. They have had it in constant use for almost 5 years. It is important when installing a GD, not to over-torque when you are installing. Although I am no expert, I would think that an over-torqued connection would most likely be the root cause of the cracking. I haven't heard of anyone's Shaws cracking. Are there many here who have had this problem? Here is a link that might be useful: Waste King disposals...See MoreShow me or Tell me about your Shaws Fireclay Sink Flange

Comments (1)Our kd/gc is requiring us to select the sink first. He will order the cabinet with the sink dimensions in place. I am looking at the shaw's original fireclay too. I'm a little concerned w/ chipping, but I posted earlier and got positive feedback, so we are going that route....See More- 16 years ago
