French Door Refrigerator vs. Side by Side.
Comments (3)I have a LG CD FD (how's that for alphabet soup?) and so far have been very happy with it, although I learned (on this forum, after I bought it) that LG has a bad customer service reputation. I paid $1800 at Best Buy after watching sales for a few weeks. GE Profile, Maytag, and Jennaire were the other CD FDs available to me. I hated the SxSs available in the 1980s-1990s and am so glad that the FDs are now available. Mine has doors that can store a gallon of milk and room enough for a big pizza or two. The freezer space is decent....See MoreShallowest side-by-side CT refrigerator advice please!
Comments (2)Deeageaux -- thank you so much for your reply! I'm going to take a closer look at the Frigidaire vs the KA -- apparently, with handle, there's a .5 inch difference, so there must be something interesting going on with the handles! I've really enjoyed reading your expertise + wisdom here, and am grateful for your time. I specifically enjoyed your discussion re: Viking refrigerators and manufacturing in another post. I was at once led to believe that Viking purchased the original Amana factories (my mom has an Amana that's about 15 years old, and isn't even the same sport as the current models), and it was great to read about the Whirlpool factories. The reason I brought up Viking is that it's how I got to the KA: I had the opportunity to buy a discontinued Viking side by side (Viking Professional Stainless Steel 36" Model: VCSF136DSS), but I was assured that the KA was identical to this Viking except for the door......See MoreWhat would you have done differently -- Thread 2
Comments (25)My island is 12'long and 49" wide. There are 3 heights - 42", 36" and 30". To me, the 42" height is useless although it is where DH sits when he is in the kitchen. It was his idea and he now admits that 36" would be better. SO--- I would have 8'at 36" and 4' at 30". I get to correct all my mistakes as I have 2 more kitchens to do - maybe 3. Not looking forward to it! I'll be around here for a long time. I made a lot of good decisions - the best being changing the layout to a galley from a square....See More48" Side by Side or 42" French Door Refrigerator
Comments (3)Suzanne, in case you didn't realize it, the SZs can also be installed flush. See this recent thread. [sub-zero-fridge-built-in-vs-integrated[(https://www.houzz.com/discussions/sub-zero-fridge-built-in-vs-integrated-dsvw-vd~5428214?n=19)...See Morekatsmah
