Crack in new countertop

The fabricator put the quartzite (it's a natural slab, not manufactured quartz) in the kitchen today. On the island, one of the veins shows as a hairline flaw in the polished surface of the stone, unlike other veins. You can feel it, unlike other veins.

Hubby wonders if this is just what happens. I don't think so-- it looks like a scratch in an ohterwise smooth piece of glass.

Our rebuild-the-house contractor is taking a look at it tomorrow. He says sometimes you can put in a filler and polish it out.

Anybody know anything about this? This was one expensive piece of rock!

It was too dark to get a good shot, but here's the slab
