I think you are dreaming about quilting because you are excited to make your blue and yellow quilt and you haven't been able to work on it. If we can get sick or crazy over quilting, I'll just say it's a great way to go!!

I dream sewing and quilting.

Sometimes it's because I'm not so thrilled about the pattern, colors, whatever, but I have committed to it, and I must complete it. These are anxious dreams.

Other times it's because I LOVE the pattern, the colors, the layout, just everything about the quilt. These dreams can be energizing, and may take me to a new level.

Only you can decide which it is.

Yep, I quilt in my sleep. I also smoke in my sleep, since I no longer smoke when I'm awake.

One night, I was quilting a large quilt, and was having a very hard time moving it around under the needle. I'd tug on it to get it under the machine; then it would pull back. What an effort! Finally, DH woke me up and asked why I kept pulling the quilt off him--I told him I was quilting. He asked me to please confine my quilting to the sewing room in the future! We both got a good laugh from that.

I dream about designs I haven't tried yet. The challenge is to write it down in the morning before I forget.

Wanda I dreamed about smoking for at least a year after I quit.
I woke up this AM thinking about quilting and I know it is because I have been way too busy to quilt and I see all of the posts, and I want to quilt too!!!!!

Last week, after Caroline posted her table runners, made with the swap block that all I dreamed about...So the solution, make them.....Jean is right, it's a good way to go....

This is too funny. I often wake up thinking about a problem or pattern associated with quilting. It definitely is an obsession that is hardwired into our brains.

I also often wake up in the night thinking about a quilt I am working on or want to make. Then I lie there half asleep, going over and over the same things, unable either to get back to sleep or to wake up enough to free my mind. The good thing about it is that thinking about quilts is pleasant, as you all know!
But the worst time I have had that way lately wasn't from a quilt but that video about making pillowcases...the one that starts out the first several minutes showing something else, and the method of making the pillowcase involves rolling up part of it and turning the cylinder made of the roll and the wide strip of decorative fabric for the end of the case inside out. That apparently really caught the attention of my unconscious mind. I felt as if I were caught in a spell and couldn't break out of it. I still feel a compulsion to start making those pillowcases! (Like a post-hypnotic suggestion!)

I'm not sure if I dream quilts or not, but I know I often wake up in planning mode.

I often dream when I am trying to puzzle out the method of making a block or whatever. I sometimes wake up having figured it out! Oh, and I stopped smoking in 1993 and I still occasionally dream about smoking. In the dream, I am frantically telling myself I don't smoke anymore, so put it out! I still feel guilty when I wake up. LOL
